  1. Remember D that you didn't invent the cape deal. You probably didn't invent wearing the same unwashed tuik to everygame either. I'm sure Kauk has you on that one. As far as some guy copying you exactly, that's flattering. I mean come on, Scooby's been copying you for years on USCHO.
  2. The list they came up with and the hanging chads they provided are actually really good. Toews is a bit older so he will ultimately have a great year this year. TJ was hands down a better player last year. Put what you want into the Toews hype we've been hearing, I won't. He's a great player, but had a slow start last year and came on strong in the end. With that being said I will agree he should be on the 2nd team. Otherwise the list seems realistic. Ed and Adam aren't the smartest around but they did put up a good list this time. (remember that Foss probably had a hand in this poll) I would however throw Klubertanz and Hunwick off the list altogether, move Goligoski up to the first team and put Fletcher from SCSU on the second team. I think the forwards are ok, especially Boyle (except after watching him now multiple times I think he
  3. I am. It shows the intrinsic worthlessness of preseason polls. I understand they're fun and shouldn't be held to the fire, but aren't the people making these prognostications supposedly using knowledge to compile these? Wisco definitely doesn't 'deserve' it till they're knocked off. Wisconsin #1? I wholeheartedly do not agree they should be #1. Who losses 55% of their teams offense and can be considered #1 the next season, regardless of who you bring in. Wisco should be in the top five for their coaching and recruiting this year, but anyone of the top five are better on paper and on the cusp.
  4. At least with hockey, what is wrong with that is Brad could get pushed out and Terry reassigned to other things. Neither of which I want to happen as both Elliot and Vandro do an impeccable job. I'm also wary of not having the other perspective. McKnucklehead is a Teamsters tool but I appreciate that he is paid to write down his thoughts. Controversy strengthens the resolve.
  5. How about the Sioux tri-fecta: So, Berry, Jackson, and Patrick all Sioux, all named Assitants at all three levels, and all in the same off-season. Gosh golly.
  6. Read through the advice here: http://www.hpurchase.com/backyard.htm http://www.southcoastal.com/history/rink.htm http://www.icedreams.ca/english/howto/backyard.aro http://www.rinkrake.com/Info/building.php also... Just google to find more. Time well spent if you're planning on a rink. You can buy the kits but from what I've heard, you'll end up having to replace them just as much as the home recipes you can use.
  7. So do cigarettes and cars I guess. I agree with the ruling. It'll help and it's really not that big of a deal to wear one.
  8. Is it home or away? Picture? Replica? I'd be very interested.

    I spy...

DITTO!!! (knowing Dave's posts and trancendent love for everything 80's) Oh, I got a quick story about a similar run-in. It wasn't a celebrity but we couldn't communicate just the same. I was in Windhoek, Namibia, Africa in June of 2004 and we were picking up souvenirs before flying out, and low and behold a young African had on a Sioux hat. I tried to talk to him about it, but alas I don't speak Africaan. I did tell him nice hat, pointed and told him "North Dakota". Shook the guys hand and got a martian look, but a smile and thank you nonetheless. Anyways, random story for I Spy.
  10. No he's not bias, Frazee's just the wrong guy for the team. Stalock's also a better goalie.
  11. Yeah, whatever, you're just a jersey chaser.
  12. Thanks for posting this. I guess someone finally pissed in his Cheerios this morning. I'm glad that his naked truth is finally shown. No more, "I wonder if Kupcake will do this. I wonder if he'll do that?" Those involved may find that the course of action proposed may to be a hard road, but one has to finally believe in CK's resolve. I doubt there is any other motivation in this message. Let's hope that if he has plans of moving on before the transitional period of the "final" decision, he thinks twice. Ride the storm Mister Kupchella.

    Hobey Oshie?

    You're exactly right. Thanks TJ!
  17. No, I wasn't talking about the 'excitement brewing in a positive sense. More of a event, #16 knocks off #2. What I meant with the comparison's of programs was this; Minn is probably the most successful program of all time. The college hockey world knows it. All the teams I listed are storied programs, and that's why I listed them. None better than the others when you look at the big picture. Sure some have more championships, stronger ties to NHL, west/east, whatever. They all have history and great ones at that. When it all boils down, I'll never say who is the best of all time because it's all relative. I love the Sioux.

    Early outs

Nothing was meant to bring in the thought process you went with. That's on you not me. There's plenty of emotional turmoil on that team, players and coach. No as for our seats, we went to Bemidji, Denver, West Regional, and now Milwaukee. More than enough traveling. I'm not embarassed, you think what you want. You weren't there. I'm sure someone of your low caliber wouldn't understand anyway. A jerk I am? KMA. I'll say it again, YOU WEREN'T THERE. You don't know what was said or anything about what went on. Even if you were close to the situation you don't have a clue.
  19. Great article by Wodon. http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2006/04/04_looking.php I
  20. Crowing too soon? The Sioux haven't lost, the Gophers did. I revel in the fact that HC got to take a small program and beat one of the biggest. Yes, it's nice that it happened to the gophers. But, seriously if HC had beaten the Sioux/Michigan/Denver/BU/BC first round it wouldn't have the same effect around the college hockey world.

Yeah, BUT WAIT, I think I've seen that 'Dream Team" before. Although I think it was a movie. Wasn't it Michael Keaton, Christopher Lloyd and Peter Boyle. Yeah, that's the ticket. ROTFL
  22. Yeah, now I might, just might, actually go back to the Mooch. After our despicable loss to Ferris State and our treatment that weekend, I said I've never go back. Now I have protection. Superman cape and outfit = Holy Cross Game Worn Jersey
  23. My dad went. He said it was him and one other guy.
  24. Very nice article. Very nice indeed. Kudos to the writer, Fluto Shinzawa.
