  1. On a cold day like today we really need guys like @brianvf to set the bar and get some excitement going for tonight. I'll I've got is Latkoczy with a shutout tonight for the Mavs, maybe @Oxbow6 can write something mean to get the group going tonight and get the ferda rally back up and operating.
  2. He was fantastic. PSP had the game, and all the high school hockey fans in the world should see the save he made with about 8 minutes left to keep it 0-0. I think Mandan-Minot-Legacy are the three from the west for sure this season. Glad he got the player of the game from the losing side, but he did his part.
  3. Bit of an upset, but DL over Sheyenne 5-4. DL had a load of chances and outshot Sheyenne in the end. Davies beats WFHS GFRR beats Grafton Legacy leading Century by 3 late. Minot up on Mandan 1-0 with under 5 to go. I've peeked in on this game and Mandan's goalie has been fantastic.
  4. Devils Lake up 5-3 in period 3. Could have more. Impressive showing for them this far.
  5. As much as I'd love an outside GF champion I think when Central has their come to Jesus moment and plays like the group that returned a ton of guys plus adds a kid like Marto they will be a really tough out. Sheyenne has probably the best goaltender in the state, reminds me a lot of a JP Lamoureax from years ago. They got a kid back from AAA who can score, and I know they'll use Mayport from last year as all the motivation they need to make a run. I've been impressed with Davies. They were in a war with Sheyenne, and also with Central, where both games could've gone their way. I'd put them at the moment slightly ahead of RR based on the goaltending department. Davies with a home game against WFHS tonight. Based on what I've seen: East: 1. CC 2. Davies 3. RR 4. Sheyenne West: 1. Minot 2. Mandan 3. Legacy 4. A lot of teams in play here, but I'll say Century at the present time.
  6. I'm sure it will take a bit to get the "who's in". I hate the portal. I'd like to see a limitation on the number of times that you can enter and go to a different university, but I'm sure countless lawsuits would follow from guys that are on university #2 looking for the next great opportunity on university #3. College football needs a commissioner. Maybe needs to break away from the NCAA entirely with how big it truly has gotten.
  7. Not a lot of chatter thus far, but the week is young. Haven't really followed much of Stu or the Mavs since we last met. Didn't have a great November, but managed a split against the Yale Bulldogs. They were idle last weekend. Simon from Slovakia hasn't put up mind boggling numbers in his 7th year of tending goal for the Mavs, but as we've seen when he's seeing the puck well he is an elite goalie. I'll say a 4 point weekend for UND.
  8. I think we beat the drum every year of getting a burner WR to make opposing teams have to drop some guys out of the box and respect our passing game a bit more, but we haven't seen that guy show up on campus yet. Have to believe this is almost priority number one for coach Schmidt.
  9. And so it begins. Only a matter of time before Rucker I think.
  10. I'm not sure how to read that game today: A) JJ made strides forward. B) Washington's d is 8 game losing streak terrible, offense too. C) The Vikes got a couple bounces finally. D) Washington understands how tanking works. I'd say all of the above but I'm hesitant to include A in there.
  11. B...b....b....Culture?

I'm a Notre Dame fan, but seeing James Madison make it into the CFP puts a smile on a guy's face. Now let's hope they don't get walked too badly.
  13. Turn the page. The portal giveth and the portal taketh away. QB competition has to be wide open going into spring. Jerry and the offense just disappeared at the end of the year, and thats how the obituary on the 2025 season should read. Schmidt got to the playoffs and got them into the 2nd round, but I'd bet many would argue that they were a better team in September than November. Im happy with how we came along defensively, even with the number of injuries we saw. Lets get better now.
  14. South Dakota would have been out had UND not screwed the pooch every way possible in the Dakota Dome. Credit to the Yotes for picking themselves off the mat and getting the furthest of any Dakota 4 team.
  15. Dom is sad. Luckily only 11,000 people saw it happen.
  16. Believe the change was made away from R22 a few years back. Charlie has since left the Ralph and retired.
  17. Always going to be tight games at the Herb. Team scored enough, but I thought we'd see a better group than what we saw last Saturday. Good teams win when they don't play great, and I think you'll see an inspired SCSU team trying to get out of their UND swoon tomorrow night.
  18. 4-3 win. Back to the hotel, then the film room. Spunar 7-0.
  19. Sticks in lanes guys....come on....
  20. Weibe on their goal has his guy but goes flies on poop to leave his guy who then has a wide open look into an empty net.
  21. It took 5 guys running around to make that goal happen. Yikes.
  22. And that is the definition of interference....
  23. Great hands moment for Zellers. 4-2.
  24. Throwing pucks around...Croal may have saved a goal.
  25. Good timeout by Dane. After a flipping awful job by the lines on that icing. As soon as the d man changes his angle back they need to waive it.
