  1. I hate the celebrations. Kids choosing to skate to the student sections rather than celebrating with their brothers. All about getting clicks I guess.
  2. Jim Erickson, my pick for the NCHC media award this year, always on the short end of the stick with color guys. If he's not working with Geno Parrish he's with Kevin Gorg of all people. 1-0 Delano. This could get ugly.
  3. Hibbing kind of went through the motions the first half of the game before getting rolling late in the second period. They have some playmakers, but will have to grind like heck against the Zephs. Thinking Delano with a walk in the park tonight against the Section 3A representative, and Warroad a 5-1 winner over Northern Lakes.
  4. Congrats to the Legacy goaltender as according to my math he made 124 saves in the three days, beating the old record of 113.
  5. U16 playoffs with team ND and Sioux Falls are this weekend in West Fargo, I've heard there are a few waiting around for that and possibly heading out depending on if they qualify for nationals or not.
  6. The big names I'd keep track of in the EDC. I'll let @Johnny Fiveupdate the west as he seems in tune with what is happening there. Again, rumor mill so take it with a grain of salt. Will also lean on @gfhockey and the GOBC for the GF kids. Ulmer-RR: Skating wise he's there. Jeff's kid correct? Brown-RR: No rumors really outside of seeing him a few times and he would be one of the best returning forwards in the state. Rivard-GFC: Was his mom the UND coach? Marto-GFC: Per multiple rumors I've heard one more year at GFC. Spicer-GFC: A lot of coaches around the state I've spoken to are the most impressed with him of the GFC underclassmen. Benson-Sheyenne: Lead the state in scoring, and has played some NA3, also heard NAHL possibly this spring. Fitzpatrick-Sheyenne: In my opinion the best underclassmen goaltender in the state. Was out in Portland for their camp, and been on the ice with the Force. Dad used to coach HS, brother played college at Bottineau. Stromme-DL: Probably the MVP for that group this season. Great motor. There has been a bit of a Northstar pipeline for DL kids. If he stays he's All State pick.
  7. I've got a feeling that SCSU wins the battle of dogs at Amsoil. Playing for their lives and coming off a bye week they should have some go after I thought they played well at the Ralph. I think some Sunday hockey is likely in that matchup. Miami isn't there just yet, the Pios in 2 there. Western gets CC. I'll take them in 3.
  8. Remember children, you've got to win this series or you don't play for three weeks.
  9. It goes from the best weekend of the year to a dreary Sunday after Saturday night. Way too early pick for next season outside of RR or Central would be Sheyenne, if everyone comes back. Also already hearing rumors of coaches that will be hanging it up before next season, will see how true rumors are.
  10. I'd rather play Omaha than Miami. Simon not the same as years past.
  11. First time in a long time I've watched fishing....
  12. I'm kind of upset RR didn't wear their blacks. Those things are mean. 3-0 Central after 1. Skarp is gonna need to get a regroup in the room.
  13. Two good teams, got 4 of 6 at Lawson. Getting it to OT was big. Now the fun part really begins.
  14. To win the league last night and then come back and get this one to OT with Gibby in against a well coached team like Western.....well done boys.
  15. Get this to OT.....
  16. Congrats to coach Blair and the WF United girls. Thrilled for Kennedy and her team!
  17. Sheyenne ends up 3rd. Good showing by Legacy, Sheyenne's goalie was good again today. One more game and we officially get to early defection season.
  18. Someone mentioned it earlier, and it shocked me was that you only had one Bantam team from GF qualify for the state tournament. Watched a bit of the AA this morning. Good game between WF and GF. Bismarck hockey cam on YouTube if anyone interested.
  19. Hats off to the Legacy goaltender. 68 saves, three off Walski's state tournament record. Best two teams in the ship should be a battle. I'll pick RR.
  20. Checking boxes: -Home ice -League championship -NCAA tournament qualification Next step is NCHC playoff championship and a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
  21. Red River to the final winning 5-1. Put up 53 shots on Sheyenne. Central-Legacy underway.
  22. North/South loses in OT back to back years at the state tournament. You wonder how many kids like Fischer can come through a program. Soft goal to end the game, but thats OT for ya.
  23. All but one team in the tournament, as we await Gentry and WBL tonight. Seeding wise AA I'll say: AA: 1. Tonka, 2. Moorhead 3. Edina 4. Rosemount 5. Grand Rapids
  24. Games going on today: Minot United vs. Jamestown Shanley vs. Century Sheyenne vs. Red River Central vs. Legacy Girls: Century vs. Minot United Legacy/BHS vs. Mandan WF United vs. North/South Davies/Shanley vs. Grand Forks Knightriders
  25. He was boarded and broke his collar bone. I was hoping a west team got through, but the officials missed that one.
