  1. Second season begins on.....a Saturday? Boy, maybe could have played one of those 5 games in Detroit from earlier in the year this Friday. Anyways, away we go on what should be an entertaining ride through September. Final Central Standings Predictions: 1. White Sox 2. Twins 3. Guardians 4. Tigers 5. Royals I believe whomever wins the division will do so with less than 90 wins.
  2. Blake to Hoogste.....Blake to Gaber......scores!!!!!!! Barring any injury I think Gaber ends up a Hobey finalist and All American this season. Is a 60 point season possible for him, or is the NCHC to good defensively to allow that type of year to happen? Brink was close last year with 57.
  3. I was happy to see Cam win it. Heart was pulling for Young, but it was fun to watch the round. Now reports are coming in that the Saudi's are offering him 90 million to come over to LIV. Not sure I could turn down that kind of money, but I didn't just win the British open and have a bright future ahead of me on the course.
  4. Completely agree. The game has just evolved to where St. Andrew's can't contain these guys that can kill the ball. Augusta changed up their course because the scores were getting too obsurd, and if the weather is kind to these guys you'll have a champion tomorrow shooting 20 plus under par. I'm a hack, but 18 playing at 354 yards with an impossible to miss fairway would be a driver and a wedge before a three put.
  5. How many times have the Twins had a guy on third this year with no outs and not get him in? Gray has just been slapped around lately. Maybe the break will help him out.
  6. No Giolito either. Take advantage of it Twins. Three of four would be huge.
  7. Great win for the guys today. Good pitching performance by Ryan, Thielbar, Jax, and Duran. Wish Ryan could have went longer, but a win is a win.
  8. Joe Ryan is pitching well and they take him out with 78 pitches in the 6th....and we wonder why the bullpen is taxed daily. You are getting a good pitching performance against a good team, why take Ryan out? Easily could have pitched into the 7th, who knows, maybe the 8th inning? Maybe just once we don't follow the binder for a moment.
  9. Yeah I've heard of a couple as well. Was talking to a head coach a while back and he said that the development/coaching at the B level of the youth programs is of critical importance now more than ever because you just go on the assumption that your top end kids could leave or are getting offers.
  10. I think because of Jasper bolting I'll forever have "ohh God what if he stands out" running through my head during these camps. You are right though, happened one time.....shouldn't again right? Right?
  11. I like that approach. Also like how they will be in Alaska for half the month of March.
  12. I wish he wouldn't pick a team and a player as his favorite every year and just ride the pony to death. Cole Caufield.....Kale Makar.....Matty Berniers..... He was so in love with Michigan this year. And like you said, the one college hockey guy at ESPN who serves as the ambassador for the sport on the network is in love with...Michigan.....
  13. Was funny listening to the ESPN broadcast with "Bucci" (God they over say that.....cripes...) "Ohh yeah that Michigan team last year was basically a professional team playing in college". The Miracle on Ice part 2? How on earth did a bunch of college kids playing for Denver beat that group of professionals?
  14. Twins win 2 of 3 in Chicago. Bullpen just couldn't hold onto it today. I know they want to watch the Duran usage, but probably should have seen him in the 8th with an off day tomorrow. On to Texas with a 4.5 game lead in the Central.
  15. When was the last time that the entire boys tournament was held on the same sheet of ice?
  16. Buxton will get all the press for his walk off (Deserved), but how good of an at bat did Arraez have to lead off the inning? Made the guy throw all his pitches and then have to go from the stretch with a guy that can run on first against Buxton. He can't run well, doesn't have a great arm, not a superb fielder, not great power, but just finds a way to hit. If he isn't an All Star cancel the game.
  17. Warroad goaltender Hampton (Hammer) Slukynsky makes the Gretzky cup team in Red Dear Alberta. Not sure if he will be playing at Warroad next year as a senior, but a Northern MN kid to keep an eye on.
  18. Agreed. Teams know the Twins will be looking so they've got to go with the reality that it will require a Kepler or a Miranda to make a splash with a bullpen arm that likely will be a rental guy. Jake Cave is killing it in the minors, and its not like the well is dry down there.
  19. Yup, you're right. Another loss after the 7th inning. Guess there is always tomorrow.
  20. Welp.....does Thornburg go out and pitch another inning or who exactly is the next guy in??
  21. Joe Smith is on the IL. Limited options tonight after Jax and Duran. Watched Rocco's post game and it seems as though nothing will change with Pagan usage.
  22. Have we ever had a reliever blow 4 in a row to the same team? Oof. Maybe Joe Smith instead of Cotton in that situation, unless he is hurt?
  23. I'm not a Rocco guy, but his hands are tied late in games. I'd promote Jax and maybe split Pagan and Moran as bridge guys. They've got to trade for a late inning guy. Duran has been superb, need at least one more guy to compliment Jax.
  24. Loved watching the Goose. Undrafted guy that just became a force in the middle. 55 is too young in my book.
