Duffey not off to a great start. I will say that Sanchez has been a surprise. Hitting roughly 30 points better than I thought he would. Thankfully for Kepler he got his contract a few years ago. He will make another 15 million before the Twins buy him out for a million in 2024.

You take a split in Boston most of the time, but they should've won the series, much like Seattle. Wonder how long Buxton is out.

I remember last year we heard over and over...."its early....plenty of season." Before you knew it they were so far behind there was zero hope.

I'm not sure if it's been said here or not, but there seems to be a stigma within the NTDP kids about playing a year of juniors instead of going directly to college. As @The Sicatoka mentioned above, we have seen our share at UND that could have used more time in juniors, but instead came right away. I mean you have your Cooleys and Zegras type kids that don't need that extra year and won't miss a beat, but then you have a kid like Scheel where we know what another year of development did for the kid instead of jumping in too soon.

Juniors: Jammer, Ness, Gaber Seniors: Judd, Budy, Albrecht Super Seniors: Hain, Senden. I put James on the list only because he topped 60 points as a rookie in the USHL which is rare. He has to be in next year right?

Alright. Update on the kids that are coming in next season. Spicer situation sucks, but he won't be here. Ben Strinden: 25 goals, 30 assists. Jackson Blake: 25 goals, 50 assists. Owen McLaughlin: 28 goals, 43 assists. Dylan James: 27 goals, 33 assists. Blake looking to be the next Nick Schmaltz type feeder guy on the top unit, with McLaughlin your likely 2nd line center. Watching Blake on a line with Gaber could give us flashbacks to his dad playing with David Hoogsteen.

I'm in the boat of you bring the kid in. Had some injury issues at NTDP, but is on a team littered in fabulous talented. Get Budy to the transfer portal, and send Montgomery back to the USHL for a year. Being a North Dakota kid I hope for the best for him. Hopefully he has a nice career somewhere, but not against us.

A co-worker told me his family wants him to be at Minnesota for four years. Told me all this before his announcement the other day. "A for sure thing" he was in Minnesota next season. Glad I didn't bet him.

Makes sense to see guys like Calder and Cruikshank back in the portal. Got to have scholarships available for your recruits coming in, and if these Covid year guys aren't able to have a scholarship are they going to spend (Insert cost of year of college here) to play at the same place? There will be teams getting good players, but tough decisions on the $cholly dollars will have to be made.

I'm probably in the minority, but I really don't give a $hit about the number of national championships that UND has won. The program has had success that pleases some fans, not all apparently. To each their own. I just can't believe a ton of kids will pick one school over the other based on one having say 11 championships, and the other 7. I mean Georgia got a lot of good football players in recruiting battles that Alabama was involved in, and we all know who holds the advantage there in championships. Maybe I'm wrong. I have spent almost 40 years watching the Vikings.

Savoie and Chrona likely. Chrona could play in the NHL this year. Heard that Nabokov really wants him in the organization.

They had a great chance to make it 2-0 early in the third. Chrona came up big and then Denver went down and scored. Then Denver got the PP and the game they had played so well in turned into a game they were chasing. Then....terrible bounce....2-1 develops, the defenseman on the 2-1 left McKay hanging out to dry and its 3-1. Hockey sometimes.
