  1. Anyone going to Wylde Tymes on Thursday? If so, what would be a good time to head there? Hopefully we beat the Bulldogs so we can get a crack at Denver. No offense to UMD, but it would be nice to play a team like Denver prior to the NCAA's since they are a team that is capable of winning it all. As well as UND has been playing, I would like to see how we stack up against a contender as we head to the National Tournament.
  2. Exactly...we can't have it both ways. A one game suspension seems right. No need to try and rationalize the hit or break it down frame by frame etc...
  3. It appears as though a new restaurant may finally be moving into the Suite 49 building... http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/arti...016/group/home/
  4. Nice article. I love the picture of Parise jumping into the glass...It's comical seeing all the Canadien fans with their faces buried in their hands Unfortunately they got the last laugh
  5. Consider yourself fortunate. I've been trying to get lower bowl seats since the start time at 10:00 am and there doesn't seem to be any available
  6. It looks as though it's going to continue to drag on for at least another month or so... http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/151589/ Board member Grant Shaft told the board today that, upon further questioning of Faison, he understands that there are two opportunities for UND to apply to join the league, once early in March when league members meet by telephone and once in June when they meet in person. The June meeting is the more critical one, Shaft said, though Faison still maintained that the sooner the nickname is dealt with the better.
  7. This is why I mention the UND leadership. I trust that they have an idea of what's at stake and will make the appropriate decisions. As I mentioned you aren't going to change anyones mind. The majority of Sioux fans want whats best for the athletes and the University as a whole regardless of what our nickname is. Most fans don't come to this site to constantly remind others whats at stake and try to get them to change their minds. Again, everyone knows what's at stake...so why do you constantly have to come in and stir the pot? We pay the administrators to make the decisions that are best for UND and those folks are not on this board looking for ideas or trying to find out how Sioux fans feel about the issue. All your doing is being confrontational and looking for an arguement. But whatever makes you feel better about yourself I guess...
  8. What happens if it stays the same? Do people die? Do people lose their jobs? No. I do appreciate hearing other peoples points of view on this discussion board. I just don't understand why you are so adamant about stirring things up. Every Sioux fan has an opinion and no matter what you say, you're not going to change peoples minds. Some are for the name, some feel it's time to move on. Granted we need to find an autobid conference and I trust that the leaders of UND will do what's right to make sure that happens. I want to keep the Sioux name just as badly as anyone else, however I can accept the fact that we may need to make the change in order to benefit the UND Athletic department and the student athletes. I do not need to get on this board and constantly argue why everyone else is wrong...perhaps you should do the same.
  9. Since they have a private school (Oral Roberts) in their league, I believe they are exempt from the "Open Records" laws. Some one can correct me if I'm wrong on this...
  10. Sounds like a good time. Unfortunately I won't be able to imbibe too much as the reason I'm down there is to run in the Arizona Rock n Roll half marathon on Sunday. In fact, I'll probably only go for the Friday game....and thanks for the weather update, that's what I was wanting to hear!
  11. According to the UND Alumni Associations Facebook page, there will indeed be a viewing party at RT O'Sullivans in Mesa. Anyone else living/planning to be in Arizona going to attend the viewing party?
  12. Thanks for the info...I figured I'd contact the Alumni office if I hadn't heard anything by the end of the week. High was supposed to be around 70 in AZ today...or to put it another way, around 100 degrees warmer than it was last night!
  13. Does anyone have information on Sioux-Gopher viewing parties for the games on January 15th and 16th? I will be in Arizona and am curious if there are any plans for a viewing party down there? Thanks...
  14. Wasn't really sure which thread to put this in but felt this was good as any. Did any of you catch the Florida State vs. West Virginia game yesterday? Prior to the game, Coach Bowden took part in the "Seminole Tradition" invovling the flaming spear. http://ballhype.com/video/bobby-bowden-fsu...ore-gator-bowl/
  15. That is HILARIOUS! Although it didn't get by everyone... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/12/28/h...a_n_404876.html
  16. Looks as though Minot got hit pretty hard as well. Here is a link to the Bismarck Tribune which shows snow fall totals... http://www.bismarcktribune.com/news/local/...1cc4c002e0.html
  17. According to this article http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/145606/ ...alot...24.9 inches to be exact. I know I did my fair share of blowing/shoveling snow today! "A statement released this afternoon, which contains storm snowfall totals as of this morning, shows Grand Forks saw the most snow in the region. In North Dakota, Grand Forks is at the top of the list with 23.9 inches recorded. Hoppes said a measurement taken at noon at the office showed an even 24 inches since Wednesday night."
  18. It would be ideal to find a home and home, but why not try for a one time game at South Dakota State? I know it's a road game, but it's close and many Sioux fans would have the opportunity to go to Brookings. The game would also generate quite a buzz. I don't know how interested SDSU is but I would hope UND would be contacting SDSU to gauge interest...
  19. Almost worse??? In my opinion this is definitely worse. I echo the sentiments of others that say this is unacceptable. It's one thing to lose to NAIA schools when your DII but when your DI? These should be exhibition games. Games where we get to see what our bench can do...unbelievable
  20. I know it's been mentioned before, but I sure would like to see a game against South Dakota State and they happen to have November 20th open. I think it would be a great last game of the season for UND. I'm not sure who SDSU loses from this years team, but this game could be a nice "measuring stick" kind of game to see where we are at in comparison to an FCS playoff caliber team.
  21. Great job this year by the coaching staff! With the football and bball teams down a bit this year, it's nice to see another sport making some advances. Hopefully the trend continues...I would also love to see a UND-NDSU matchup in vball sometime soon!
  22. Thanks for the infor Marlin...seems like a good prospect!
  23. It is real...wish I had a different link than this one, but the letter is posted here: http://www.bisonville.com/forum/showpost.p...amp;postcount=5 Charles Murphy later, also said he would be in support of the name under certain circumstances. I do not have a link to that quote or story...perhaps someone else can help out here.
  24. Weren't they the last teams to play each other as well...only fitting that they start the rivalry up again. Kind of interesting that it's a double header being played at the Metrodome.
  25. EDIT: I decided to do a little digging and found averages for the regular season but not the exhibition. http://www.cfl.ca/schedule/year/2009/time_zone/0 I think it would be great...I would go. I'm not real familiar with attendance averages for CFL games, I would have to guess that the Al would probably be too small though.
