So if the WAC were to fold, what would happen to the Texas schools that have accepted a bid?

All of the talk/rumors about a new football stadium are nice but remember that they are just that...rumors. Especially those posted on an anonymous message board. These rumors have been floating around for a few years now. Unless someone has a link or can provide proof, I will temper my enthusiasm. And I'm not talking about links to an architects renderings. I'm not trying to be a "negative nelly," just a realist. Donations such as the Ralph don't happen very often.

I have seen the Dahlstrom and Home of Economy commercials during their broadcasts. I have also seen promos for other FCS televised events so it appears to be a combination of both.

It may wrap around a little bit and they could still have the two corners in the upper level. They could also flip the ice (switch the home side) so the zamboni entrance doesn't come into play. I don't see the students giving up the center ice seats any time soon though.

I agree with this idea. It would be more intimidating having the students on the back of the goalie for two periods. I know I've seen that at Maine and at Wisconsin, not sure if any other schools do it. Personally, I believe it's the best place to watch a hockey game.

Good times in Madtown! Looking back on it now, we really probably should have got our ass kicked or at least have received some verbal abuse. I've had nothing but good experiences in my three trips to Madison...other than the military base incident on the way home one time

I agree with this. Whats kind of fun is to see how Bison fans criticized UND for staying DII and not thinking big. Now UND takes a chance and heads off to the Big Sky where there is greater potential and opportunity to move on to bigger and better things and NDSU fans criticize us for the move. Meanwhile they say how content they are with their current conference membership...even as their commissioner is talking to schools such as St. Cloud St. and UNO. Oh the irony...

That and they are rather bitter about the last time they were turned down. I would like to see the Big Sky take a look at NDSU. I know alot of their fans will bash the idea to no end, but I'm sure that the administration at NDSU will at least entertain the idea if the Big Sky did begin talking to them. In UND's case, the Big Sky shared their vision about it's future and where they want to be 5-10 years down the road. They appear to have a plan about being the premiere conference in FCS. The Big Sky offered UND the opportunity to decide if they want to be a part of that vision. Perhaps NDSU will get the same opportunity. The question is this, will NDSU's pride get the best of them and because of it, choose to stick with the Summit/MVFC/NCC or will they look to the west and choose to go to a conference where the sky is the limit? If NDSU is interested in FBS, their best opportunity is to align with schools such as Montana and Montana State. Montana may have chosen to stay FCS for now, but you can bet that they will begin working on the infrastructure of their athletic program so if that opportunity comes again, they will be ready. I don't think any Bison fan can honestly say that staying in the Summit/MVFC/NCC will present a better opportunity to move to FBS than the Big Sky will. As was the case with UND, "what is your vision of your future NDSU?"

I don't doubt that the Big Sky will at least put out a feeler to NDSU. Not sure how receptive they would be. I don't see Idaho, San Jose St, or Utah St. moving down. Not sure where you think UNC is going to go?

Remember, UC Davis is football only and there is still the very real possibility that Montana may be FBS bound. Which schools are our peers again?

Unfortunately I tend to agree with a lot of what MKSioux and BigDog are saying. I will say that if Montana stays in the Big Sky, then we will be fine. Should they leave, I guess the only silver lining I see in this mess is that our chances to make the playoffs go up a bit...

Just perusing the various message boards, I also get the feeling USD has an MVFC invite. According to one poster on AGS, the decision now is whether the first football game will be in Vermillion or Brookings...which would indicate a potential MVFC invite. Hmmm...that doesn't sound too positive for Big Sky membership. The Big Sky also hasn't announced any press conference for tomorrow as they did when they were going to announce UND/SUU. On the other hand, I haven't seen any press conference announcements for the Summit or MVFC either. Not much coming out of the USD website either...

Are you able to expand on that a bit...what exactly did he say?

In that scenario, we would have a pretty good feeling of what it's been like to be Southern Utah for the last several years. Hopefully we do not have to feel what that is like...

I do recall Fullerton talking about the Big Sky possibly getting to 16 teams before the Pac 10. Any chance the Big Sky goes after the XDSU's? According to a poster on USD's board, an announcement concerning USD to the Big Sky could come as early as Thursday or Friday. The same poster also states that the MVFC option may not be totally dead...

I assumed they were playing out west when I read the post. After checking the schedule, they are heading to NJ to play NJIT. I guess it must be that much cheaper in Fargo...
