  1. No doubt. They've had a hard enough time adjusting to Boychuk's absence...now this. Defensive depth is definitely being tested. Hopefully the 3rd period of last night's game is more indicative of how they will play without Chara than the 2nd period was. I also wonder if getting all the pomp & circumstance of Boychuk's return over and done with can help them move on a bit. He was a big piece, for sure, but they seem to have had a hard time dealing with his loss. It almost reminds me of when Seidenberg went down last season...it took a good 10-15 games before the D & PK were straightened out. Let's hope losing Chara doesn't set them back another 10 games.
  2. But could you imagine if we actually had these "hybrid" players? We'd be unbeatable.
  3. See what happens when you cross the GOBC?
  4. Caggiula is cleared:
  5. I have a question for those with the Chromecast: I currently have my laptop hard-wired to my router, and an HDMI cord going to my big TV in the living room. The stream works great. However, I have another TV above my bar adjacent to the living room, and I was trying to think of how I could get the webcast to that TV as well and have the video in sync with the other TV (both TVs are visible from multiple areas in the room). Would a chromecast hooked up to the bar TV accomplish this? Could I cast from my laptop to the bar TV and have the two video signals be in sync?
  6. Great...another "non-game" method of determining an outcome that the B's will suck at. The only thing I can say about shootouts is they're more fun when you win 'em. Otherwise they pretty much suck overall and I'm not a fan.

    Obsession

Darn...here I thought they were trying to hang their "EAT MOR CHIKIN" sign.
  8. I can't necessarily comment on the "passion" of the student fans since I'm not regularly in the arena; but there are a couple major differences between now and when I was in school (1998 grad). Students now have to buy tickets; we waited in line to get in for "free." All home games are now televised; we rarely had games shown on WDAZ. If you wanted to watch the game, you had to be there. The new REA is more corporate, sells beer, and employs people specifically to watch out for improper student behavior and underage drinking. I can see why some students would just say "screw it - I'll stay home, drink some beers, and watch it on TV."
  9. It seems to be up to the user. I see sports teams with Roughriders, RoughRiders, or Rough Riders.
  10. It would be nice to see them bring in an outside perspective, but the front-runner is probably Molitor.
  11. I'm sure they'd like to, but that could open a can of worms. What would stop other teams from arbitrarily paying additional money to big-time players outside of their contracts?
  12. Hughes has 8 million other reasons not to lose too much sleep over it, but to have an hour-plus rain delay ruin your chances of getting just ONE MORE OUT is awful luck. Maybe they can find a way to get him an out from the bullpen this weekend.
  13. I haven't eaten a steak in GF since the Bronze Boot shut down.
  14. Firehouse is great - ate there A LOT while traveling down to Texas on business in 2011-2012. Glad to see them opening shops up here in the Twin Cities area. Which Wich is another one of my favorites that is now creeping up this way.
  15. Heck, even if the Yeti they find isn't offended, they'll tell him he should be...
  16. Heck, other than possibly breaking free, Brees maybe could've flipped the ball to the RB standing right in front of him. Munnerlyn did the right thing taking him all the way to the ground. I also don't think there was a whistle until after he was down. If refs want to protect QBs, they should exercise better judgement and blow the whistle earlier when they see a QB locked up like that.
  17. Soo Liners is unique. I kinda like it. Going off the "Lakers," I've always thought that as a way to honor the one tribe that gave approval for the Sioux name UND could adopt the nickname "Spirit Lakers." I'm sure it would be shortened to "Lakers" most of the time, and ND isn't necessarily known for it's abundance of lakes, but then again neither is Los Angeles.
  18. ...are the bigger embarrassment. Suspenseful, wasn't it?!
  19. I honestly think the uniforms.
  20. AP out indefinitely. I'm hoping he's played his last game for the Vikings. Hate to see the organization bumble this so badly, but in the end this is the right thing to do.
  21. Well... that's what Obama would call us!
  22. Concussion issues...yuck.
  23. If I recall correctly, UND and Notre Dame were the only schools to apply to host this year's western regionals. Since UND applied with BOTH their home venue and a neutral site, the NCAA chose the neutral site. Notre Dame likely got lucky that there were no other applicants, as they were awarded the other regional at their home venue. Now, obviously UND could've done the same thing as Notre Dame and applied only with the Ralph, but if there had been more applicants they would've run the risk of not getting selected.
  24. I know that is what came out early in the reporting, but this link does not back up your statement about multiple attempts at indictment... http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11514522/adrian-peterson-minnesota-vikings-indicted-child-case
