For Mankato: Buffalo Wild Wings or Blue Bricks before the game. Blue Bricks, Mettlers, and/or The Haze (dance club for younger people) after the game. For the most part, Mankato fans are pretty cool. As always, there are always a few drunk students who get mouthy. Most Sioux fans will be in sections 100, 200 and 300, but will be scattered throughout the end where the Sioux shoot twice. The arena sells beer, which is nice. The men's restroom lines are always a pain, but are right by the women's bathroom, so that can be entertaining. If you can, get a room at the former Holiday Inn (now City Center Hotel). This is within walking distance of everything, and well worth the money.

I know it sounds crazy, but THIS year, I am more interested in the women's hockey program. I can't believe it myself. I first realized it last week, when both games were on TV at the same time. I watched the hockey game wayyy more than I thought I would, missing out on a good number of football plays. Lets not turn this thread into a football one though, we can tear apart the football team on the football page.

I am also heading in that direction. Great win by the ladies! They will hold their place in the rankings, or possibly climb a spot or two with this weekend's results.

Only one game, but I like what I saw in Forbort. Nelson appeared pretty gritty as the game went on, going back and forth with some of the Manitoba players. Overall, rusty, but they got some time at game speed against these Canucks. Now, on to Alaska, and some big games for Pairwise.

It would make sense to make an afternoon of it. Especially with no vikes playing. Women's game, then men, just like the old NCC basketball doubleheader days!

Ahhh, I turned it for a second as I was watching the sioux women play, missed that last play. I would be pissed too.

Good points greenteam and MoSioux. I guess I wish it were only a QB or coaching problem...but as you've alluded, there are more problems, and we probably did get beat by the better team today. For me, it was the nature of HOW we got beat. Take away some blown coverages, turnovers, and coaching calls, maybe we are more competitive. I will still be at the game next week, as I have been for the previous 2. It is just frustrating, and I need to have more patience. I was jealous watching Dante Warren throw the ball today though....

Anyone else notice that when Mussman was talking to Ed "where am I right now" Meirkort at the end of the game, he pointed to the endzone where the questionable TD call occurred in the first half? Muss, calls go both ways, get over it, and focus on the gameplan instead of how the refs "jobbed" you on one!

Good job, I watched most of this game on TV, while filpping back to the football game. I am much prouder of the ladies effort and win than I am of the UND football team's coaching and play today.

I gave you a minus for that post, first time I've ever tried doing that. Is it right that Kristo did this? NO. But, to judge like you just did is pretty rotten. He screwed up, it was a bonehead thing, but it happens. There was a party in GF recently that had a huge number cited, maybe over 100 if I remember correctly, maybe Kristo was one of them.

Sioux come out rusty, give up a goal or two, then comeback and throttle these older Canucks 9-2.

NICE! That is awesome. I'm now a fan. I remember when his wife Fergie was in Grand Forks for her concert, and afterwards was downtown dancing on tables at the clubs. I think it was still called Babylon when she was there.
