  1. Much more important than the wonderful looking white jerseys, Blais gets the final change, which he has historically turned into a huge advantage in the playoffs.
  2. Tom Reid's is a fun place. I was there after a couple Wild games this year...wearing a Sioux jersey along with my friend. It is a cool place and a few blocks from the arena. Maybe Frank Mazzacco and his hairpiece will make an appearance. He probably knows better though as all WCHA fans other than Goofie fans hate him and the Wooger.
  3. How about: Michigan Tech University...we feel really sorry for you. Michigan Tech....when will you just give up and drop the program??? Those are mean...I'll come up with more intellectual ones.
  4. It's clear that Connor is the best player in the history of college hockey...based on all of those shorties! (8 SHG!!!) Well, maybe the second best ever since John Madden had 10 SHG while at Michigan which you all know is the NCAA record. CONNOR FOR SHG HOBEY!!!!
  5. We all know Bucks and Zach are deserving of the award. Who else can be considered favorites? Has anyone seen non-WCHA players they consider contenders? I have seen most WCHA players, along with Boston College players, and I think without a doubt Zach wins the award. He plays so hard both ways, and seems to be a great leader. Remember, stats are just one factor in deciding the Hobey.
  6. You really aren't serious are you? Lets say MSU-Mankato wins the league in a year or two...I'm sure the WCHA would love to have the Final Five at the beautiful Midwest Wireless Center with 5000 seats instead of the Xcel or other NHL arena with 18000 seats.
  7. Sounds like everyone knows what end to be on! If the Gophers make it...that's a big if, I can't wait to cheer against them in their home environment.
  8. Just curious where everyone is sitting. I bought the package of tickets in section 107, lower level. It would be nice if Sioux fans could be in one area instead of spread around.
  9. How about this likely scenario? The slumping Gophers lose in the first round of the WCHA playoffs, possibly on the road, and don't make it to the Final Five in St. Paul! I am sure the officials will be doing everything in their power to get the Gophers to the Final Five, for money's sake.
  10. FIVE FOR FIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brandt needs to be the man the rest of the way. Need to sweep Tech to keep the momentum up. GO SIOUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good job to GFC, my alma mater too!
  11. That makes it 4 for 4! Get the sweep tomorrow boys!
  12. Way up here in Grand Forks we've got lots of wind and snow....and we've got Division One hockey...we all holler Go team go! Our team has got some local boys...we've got Scotty Dub, a few from Minnesota...Gopher Fans...regards to you. Great Song! Great Team!
  13. I forgot to mention I agree with the idea of attending road games in the future over returning to Grand Forks if the atmosphere remains as it is. I am a UND alumnus, and now live much closer to Mankato, St. Cloud, Minneapolis, Duluth and Madison than Grand Forks. It is easier for me to drive to these places and spend my money there than in Grand Forks...yet I don't. I have seen 8 Sioux home games this year. I hope the atmosphere thing gets cleared up before next year so I can keep making the long trips back to GF and cheer on the Fighting Sioux in the best arena in the world!
  14. I was at both games...I would say 1000 is not an unreasonable estimate on Saturday. I was told that in a post-game interview, Coach Blais said there were 1000 or so Sioux fans present. Who knows.....500? 1000?....that is beside the point. The important thing is that it sounded like 1000 or more fans were there! The point the author is trying to make is that the fans in Mankato were very much into the game. I even saw "non young-punks" doing the sieve chant and responding to the "SIOUX YEAH YEAH" chant. It was beautiful. As for the author's style of writing...I think her article is directed towards students...if she were to contact "Chuck" K. or Roger T. I think her letter would be written differently. I have read her articles before, and she has a gift for writing to the students. Remember, this is primarily a student newspaper. Bottom line: Less than 1000 Sioux Fans in Mankato made more noise and showed more emotion than 9000-11,500 fans at the Ralph. They should play video of it next weekend vs. Michigan Tech.
