Eventually, I think so. Just look at how many schools have changed nicknames that seem to be " thought what they were always called" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_college_nickname_changes_in_the_United_States
-
Ya, looking forward making a trip this fall to campus to see these changes. All seem very positive.

So what is the scouting report on John Santiago? Why haven't NFL teams been interested in keeping him on for training camp?
-
John Santiago will be attending the Falcons minicamp this weekend https://www.ajc.com/sports/football/three-georgia-tech-players-receive-tryouts-falcons-rookie-minicamp/Yc54RqL4I4Tw45jFETykVL/

How much room is there for growth in college hockey? I am for more competition, but eventually there will be a saturation point as there just are not enough players to go around to be a competitive team.

MTSU alum here. Surprised MTSU wasnt in the discussion. Murphy Center is outdated, much larger university, and no ice available in the 'boro. The MTSU A.D. is kinda of jackfruit, but that is a topic for another forum!

A good litmus test for Chaves on earring his money with coach openings and a potential new president.

What is Phil Jackson up to?

There might be AAU coaches that make more then UND Basketball. You get what you pay for in coaching

Bjerke moved out of Grand Forks. However, it is certainly time to think about the next mayor, since the term is up in 2020. I would not be surprised if Brown ran again, but wonder who else will be a contender? A 2020 win would make Brown Mayor for 24 years, seems has to be time for a change right?

Grand Forks County and Grand Forks both saw double-digit decreases in taxable sales & purchases in 2018 in comparison to 2017. Should be interesting to see how the local Chamber and GOBC spin the data. https://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=b03f2989ff914b598f1ceb75c233ab8c&extent=-104.5395,45.6803,-96.4261,49.197

Yes but there is a difference between fcs D1 and FBS d1.

Brady is at least a lock for the CFL. $60,000 is a lot less than $450,000 but still getting paid for football and still a long shot opportunity for the NFL in future years. Santiago certainly may hang around somewhere as RB's are highly valued Someone did find out that 40% of UDFA did make NFL rosters between active and practice squad Kinda disappointed the AFA folded. It was a good opportunity for FCS kids to get some attention at a higher level.

Wow how far has Saul's stock dropped when he loses out to a D2 coach at a marginal D1 school.
-
Maybe a REA version of Wisconsin's Jump Around? I mean how can you not get hyped at a game when this happens? Even the opposing team gets in on the action

Talking about good timing https://www.grandforksherald.com/news/education/4601443-und-students-elect-new-leaders https://www.grandforksherald.com/news/education/4595093-student-body-elections-heating-und

I read somewhere one of the people running for Student Body President wants to pursue tailgating at the REA. So apparently there is some interest in making changes from a student perspective.
-
Can you imagine Mike Hawk having a larger presence in the REA! Ralph would be rolling in his grave.

Make it the place to be instead of the place to be seen.

It all started when they got rid of the beer lady.

I sort of agree. If UND does not want to commit to be a top-level FCS school in all sports, lets just become UMN-D again and save everyone the time and money.

I grew up 90 minutes from Huntsville, have a few friends that went to UAH, and a couple that live in the area now. The city is booming and expected to be the largest one in Alabama by 2024, mostly driven by the aerospace and the automotive industry. UAH is more of a commuter campus so hopefully, this will get more students to stick around for events such as hockey.
