A very nice qb/ wr combo. Go get em bubba
-
Was wonder the same thing. Loved his hudl tape!
-
Congrats Will. Bit frustrating he didn't get drafted, prove the naysayers wrong!
-
Agreed. Outside shot at the 4th round, however, it's well known that the nfl dislikes shorter guys. His numbers outshined the rest of the ILB group and his work ethic is second to none. Based on the numbers game, minus the height, he is a first rounder. Being 250 with 4.5 speed at ILB position usually has the "experts " drooling. My guess is fullback position and a killer on special teams
-
That would be my guess. Could be late 5th but thinking 6th. He literally has everything to make it but is vertically challenged per the nfl "experts".
-
Enough!!!! Who gives a sh!t about what moo u has to say. The title indicates "former und players" and will ratelle is a former player so let's enjoy this ride. We have one our own that has worked his ass off while here at und, he now has a chance of a lifetime. This shouldn't be about moo u and und, this is about the Wills of the world.
-
He obviously left an impression on the pats coaching staff which is fantastic. Keep it up Will !
-
Leif's hudl tape !!! Did he surpass 50 tds his jun year?? Every touch was a td. Very impressive !
-
SFI just reported that Grady will be coming back (presumably)as well. Great news. Also, they talk about Gordon maybe lining up on special teams. Love that idea. He's very quick laterally and built to be both power and speed. I would like to see him on punt and kickoff returns.
-
Will is an extremely hard working talented young man that deserves a shot. The time that he put forth while at und was very apparent as he is a physical specimen that leaves it all on the field. I hope he is drafted and drafted in the higher rounds.
-
That right side (taylor, Grady) is going to be SOB for opposing defenses.
-
Wow, this is incredible news!!! This will benefit him greatly. Three more years of weight training and blocking for the best back in the fcs will make him millions. As I have mentioned many times, I truly believe he has the talent that warrants a very high draft pick, my thinking is a 2nd rounder. Best thing is, he will receive a degree. It's a win win win win situation. My preseason excitement has officially hit another level! I'm buzzing right now!! Und potentially has 3 all Americans for next year: Cole, Grady and Santiago. If they can pick up some help over the summer at wr position and maybe at the qb position for backup they will be a very tough out for everyone!!! Keep it going bubba!!
-
The wr position has me the most worried. Not enough "burners" or "separators". Santiago might have to step in occasionally or often to make that position respected by opposing defenses. The wr's need to be able to separate so the qb can make a quick decision as his time in the pocket is very minimal. No separation means the qb has three options: take the sack, run, or throw it into tight coverage which could lead to an int! Taking a sack and running you risk the chance of injury. We cannot afford to lose Keaton!! I'm not comfortable with any of the wr's at this particular time other then Clive to be able to get separation. I was expecting iwarri to fulfill some of this need but..... Seibel was fantastically crisp at route running which lead him to being able to separate but.....They need to put in extra time and dedication this summer with the workout and training program as this will be crucial, along with attrition. Cannot afford to lose anymore.
-
Lol. Santiago is an all American for a reason. Including Reyes, I'm sure no one in the fcs could make that play.
-
Whether if it's true or not it's going to be a LONG summer!! These high expectations seem to be hit with some kind of negativity. Hope it's not true and hope all our guys meet the requirements that the university set forth and lastly hope all the guys come back to prove the naysayers wrong!
-
Walk on correct! Very intelligent young man as well. Great determination and instincts. Loves to get after it and because of that I enjoy watching.
-
My feeling is different then most on the db situation. Even though there is not a single senior in the secondary these guys have game time experience and have superb talent. Two starters, Deion and tyus return as does jahmere( Mississippi st) and a newbie hunt ( navy). Add to that a one time starter Chris carter and flowers. That's 3 deep at each cb position. If needed holm could have his shirt pulled as he oozes talent. At safety we return 3 year starter and to be all American Reyes and his partner from last year, arnell. Backups palmborg ( might be starter) and the talented tucker. If needed I would guess jawon could go back as well. I really like this group and gaining the experience as a very young group last year will only make them better. In this style of defense, the secondary has huge amounts of pressure set on them. Last year they realized it and hope we see major improvements.
-
Does anyone know what number palmborg was wearing yesterday? If he was wearing #11, then I would be wrong about my compliments about jade( who's listed as #11) and instead direct those compliments to palmborg.

I'm just a little unsettled with the O line cohesiveness/depth, qb depth and the wr position. O line has some really good starters but will take time to gel. D line handed it to them today. Plus the depth is simply thin. I guess with the combination of how strong our d line is and the fact that the o line hasn't had enough time together made it very apparent today. If Grady comes back and they get 3-4 game experience under their belts I believe this will be a great group! A lot of juniors there today but not one qb recruit. Why? Heidelbuagh comes across as just not being ready. Yes, he's only a freshman and I will give some time to mature but the team might not have that option and could potentially need him ASAP if god forbid that Keaton is to go down. He will need to grow up immediately as the depth this year is him and Bartles and Bartles simply hasn't shown enough with his time here. We cannot have another 0-3 slide if our starting qb goes out. Also, including Keaton, our qbs are zeroed in on their #1 target and never look to option #2. When they had time in the pocket they still were locked in on their first read. They leave the center just focused on read #1. Noticed this last year as well. Good defenses will exploit this. Dulin: catch the ball! Other then Clive, the speed within this group seems to be below average at this level. I believe most are above average in downfield blocking however. Again, depth is an issue. Santiago maybe? With oscar looking the way he did today and brady and Gordon, I could see santiago lining up in the outside quite a bit this year. Even though jawon didn't fill up the stat sheet today, he is wickedly fast at OLB! Has the toughness as well to make a considerable statement this season. Und is getting closer and with their favorable schedule they should be playoff bound. 2-3 losses at the most, unless Keaton goes down, then it gets scary!
-
The rb and d line have an abundance of depth and talent!! Nevermann was very impressive as was the d line. The d line is by far the most impressive unit on the field. They simply win every battle. The O line struggled..........calling Grady!! Heidlebaugh showed his inexperience but had some nice looking plays. Dulin has to work extremely hrs this summer on how to catch. When he does he has a very fluid body and makes things happen. My first impression is that jade is going to be one tough SOB! He and nevermann won my gold star award. The guy has balls of steel. He plays very much like a veteran and has a great first step and puts his everything into the hit. Absolutely loved he way he played today.

#16 is going be a fantastic player for und. Huge huge talent and potential. Can't wait for tomorrow

Und is in the best shape it has been in since 2007. With bubba at helm we have a true class act that pours his heart into the university. Great to have lofty expectations again and hope they can follow what the hockey program accomplished!! -
Bowling green better not be over confident as they lost a boat load....a complete overhaul! This is not to say that they won't be any good, but I for one, have much more confidence in our crew. Cant say this enough..." Grady, please please please"!!! This would be absolutely huge for the team and for him personally. I believe with 3 years of weights he could easily be a 2nd round draft pick. Cant wait for the spring game on Saturday !!! Hoping for no injuries but want to see some ball'n from the boys!

As much as I put him down, Mussmans 2012 group of recruits was mighty impressive: Mike Edwards (fbs) currently on the depth chart at memphis taj rich: 3 year starter for und and in my mind one of the top 10 LBs und has had brian labat: 3 year starter for und kenny galloday: (fbs) currently one of the top WRs in college football. Joe schobert: (fbs) all American at Wisconsin joe mollberg: at the time, was possibly considered the best "get" for und ever. Class also included Braden Hanson, Alec carrothers and luke Mathewson. Und still has 5 of these to be seniors that are ready to finish their careers at und, hopefully with deep playoff run

There was a lot of changes from 07-13 in regards to the football program that provided the downward spiral and why the average fan might have swayed: 1. Lennon leaving. Not only a great coach that won a national championship but a fantastic individual!! This one hurt! Considering it was in the transition year made it all the more difficult. 2. Moving to a new conference with no rival as USD backed out at the last second and accepted an invite to the MVFC leaving UND alone on an island. This left the average fan being familiar with only montana and montana st as a known name or connection. Still to the day, I believe most people couldn't name 1/2 of the teams in the big sky. This is where the marketing people and und need to step up and promote each and every team that und plays. Familiarize the fans on who und is playing and the how the big sky is one of the top fcs conference in the nation. 3. The school to the south started to become what they are and the bandwagoners were in full adios mode. Additionally mussman did not recruit locally, in return, these players had no distinct connection to the area. This led to a digression for tailgating and games as there were fewer and fewer groups of families and friends that attended. 4. Mussman was a mess of head coach! Great guy that is better suited for OC. I've had the pleasure of watching und for 30 years and the anticipation of a beat down didn't exist until his helm. Every week I had a feeling we could lose or lose big. Then Sioux Falls happened.....a beat down at home from an NAIA team was the icing on the cake. 5. Nick name issue. Not necessarily on it's own, but in combination with everything else that was going on within the football program it was just adding salt to the wound. 2014-16: hallelujah!!!! 1. Bubba was hired!! 2. Recruiting locally 3. Wining record at narrowly missing the playoffs. 4. Bubba was hired!!! 5. Und has gone back to its core: defense and run the ball up your throat. 6. Like it or not the nickname issue is over and ncaa should be off of our backs. 7. Expectations are finally high going into a season 8. Bubba was hired!! what you are seeing currently for the hockey program is what the und fans will do when bubba and crew lift their trophy.
