UNDs defense has been lights out this year! Haven’t given up 20 points in a single game in the Mvfc and only two all year…..Montana and K st. A ton of seniors on that side. Major upgrade from the last 10 years Offense has had small moments vs the decent defensive teams but the play calling is atrocious. Even when they beat up on the junk teams there were a lot of head scratching calls. Add to that….Jerry and the offense have been brutal in final drive moments. Everyone holds their breathe with anything special teams They are 6-4 with a shot at 8-4. At 8-4 they are in the playoffs. Lose to sdsu ….no playoffs imo at 7-5. Dependent on how other teams finish the last weeks of course. Seeding is long gone … as is a first round bye. If this years Ndsu team is the pinnacle team it just shows how weak the fcs is and yet und is 6-4 😡😡 I could give a rats ass how close und has come to winning the four losses and being undefeated. They didn’t win and are 6-4. Why would this change if they are to make the playoffs ? What would they do differently to win the close games vs “better “ competition? Because they have failed in four games so far this year. That will change if they were to make the playoffs ?? Highly highly unlikely The trajectory of the program is on the upside. With a few coaching changes maybe next year they can take the next step

Ndsu is very beatable. Youngstown lost to them by 8 last week (had many chances ) and und by 5 this week. Indiana st was controlling the 1st half of their game three weeks ago until a two hour delay. Ndsu controlled after that. Thought their qb looked better in highlights. He’s not that impressive. His running skills are more pronounced because of his size/speed. Decent moves but he simply is bigger than most defensive guys at this level. His qb skills tho?? He locks in on #1 and just gives a hurl the direction of the wr in hopes he completes it. Think he would make a better rb. They really don’t have any decent rb it looks like. Decent OL. Their D played fairly well. But unds Offense had a lot to do with that. If they didn’t have home field advantage through out the playoffs I could see them losing out in the quarterfinals. But they have home field. I can’t pinpoint one thing that is truly dominant about Ndsu . Not impressed

I mean maybe the committee is partial to how a team doesnt win ?

UNDs 6 victories this year 1-9 Portland st 1-9 valpo 3-7 N Iowa 6-4 SIU 6-4 Youngstown st 3-7 Indiana st 20-40 (.500)combined record. As of right now …und has two decent wins. The other four wins come against 8-32 (.250) combined record teams The resume just isn’t there. Two decent wins (so far) against four losses is not considered a top 25 team imo

Possibly. But UND hasn’t shown the ability to win the big games. They have two wins over .500 clubs. The rest of their wins are not impressive in measure. With a combination of bad offensive play calling all year, bad special teams play and the way Jerry has failed in the potential game winning drives spells not a top 25 team. The red zone offense has been bad as they rank 75 out of 124 teams. Can’t trust a kicker. Kickoff and kickoff return groups are shaky. 2-3 record on road trips is not top 25 material . Now Jerry has thrown 5 INTs in the last two games. Too many offsets to be considered a top 25 team. The defense is playing like a top 25 team …that’s about it.

I know a lot. Four loss teams are not deserving of top 25 status. As bad as the fcs is no way a four loss team should make the playoffs . What makes you think they are deserving ?? How close they lose ? Winning is what matters and und can’t win the big games.

Same ol same ol. Und is good enough to compete. Not good enough to win the big games. 4 losses with 5 losses possible if they lose to sdsu. Not sure about playoffs? Two ok wins is their resume. Will that be good enough to garner playoffs ? I’ve been wanting to say for a while about the offensive play calling this year. It’s horrible. A lot of head scratching calls in nearly every game. That includes game clock management. Not good UND is not one of the top teams this year. Always close but close doesn’t cut it. Doesn’t matter who they have lost to or how close they have come to being undefeated ……they currently have 4 losses. Not a top 25 team imo. Top 25 teams frequently win close games. Also. Jerry has been horrendous in the final minutes of these close games. The play calling is one thing during the majority of the game but he has been disastrous in the potential game winning drives. well hopefully next year we can win some big games and take it the next level. See if Schmidt can rally the troops in year two Special teams have been and still are a nightmare. lastly. The D has been incredible this year. Light years better than any bubba led teams. Refreshing and fun.

The best part was definitely jawing with the opposing players. Can’t recall the year…maybe around 2006?…Nebraska Omaha was here. They had some great teams around that time and played und very tough. Great matchups . Well I picked my victim early. Their safety. He cocked off early with a hit and that was I needed. I rode that $&@! all day long. Every time the play was on our side of the field I was on him. Finally he turned around and start jawwing back. I know once they engage you can’t let up. It wasn’t long and we had nearly the entire south end on him. He was out of his game. He was fully engaged with us and not the game. Perfect ! Great times on the catwalk Wished they open up the catwalk for tomorrow’s game. Ndsu needs to be ridden all day long . Relentlessly! Go Sioux !

Once they took away the catwalk…. the atmosphere dropped significantly. The hardcore ass$&@@s like me now have to coexist with the bleacher people. Not fun and quite boring. Majority of them are only there because they have nothing better to do. They don’t want disruption. They come to games for food, candy, drinks, selfies, tik tok moments…etc. Not interested in being loud, standing or talking football . A collaboration of wet blankets disguised as und football fans. So frustrating seeing the rail 7/8 empty and quiet. The groups of people that stood on the catwalk were there for opponent distraction, game talk and most importantly ….being the 12th man. We were loud and proud. Just an all around ridiculous idea that someone had to pocket some green. With that said. I will be there tomorrow being as loud as I can be with hopefully little feedback. Go Sioux !!

Und needs the victory for playoff clarity .. just like usd did last week. Und is at home while being the underdog….just like usd . The unexpected “things” have to happen just like the usd game Every team is beatable. Dont let the piss yellow team fans tell you different . Very rarely does a team go undefeated the entire season. This is the game UND has to play clean and sound unlike last week. Contain, contain, contain their qb. Big guy that is fast. Haven’t seen them play just some highlight's but he will be tough as he gets time to read the covers or take off. He looks more comfortable when being pressured as he can use his main weapon …his feet. Home game. Und is in playoff mode. Crowd noise ! Side question. Haven’t heard or read anything but anyone know if kaminski is alright ? He took two big shots the last drive that looked like he couldn’t shake off. He maintained his slouch too long . Again. I have no clue he was truly injured or just tired but hope he’s good to go.. und needs him Go Sioux !

Yeah sdsu going to lose to Indiana st now. SDSU is not good. But never know if Mason comes back

Bad game but I posted that i was unsure of this game. I know many here posted a blowout. Not sure the reasoning or factor is that decision? Und hasn’t proven anything yet. Playing better yes. But it’s not like they’re the #1 team or a team that has continued success year after year. I was expecting a victory but a tough single digit victory. SD isn’t a crap team . Und is better ….but und is not dominant. Playing a mvfc team that needs to win and …in their house….not easy. Unfortunately to beat Ndsu it will take an absolute perfect game. UNd hasn’t played a perfect game yet. sdsu will be tough ….50/50 chance. If they lose that one they will be sitting at 7-5 …..again !!! They would end the season with only two ok wins….Youngstown and S Illinois. Not the best resume.

Couldn’t agree more about the quality of teams at this level. I’ve been saying for a decade how weak the fcs is. Yet ever year it gets weaker as more of the good teams move up. The fcs is essentially D2. I also mentioned years ago about the fcs playoff system because of how weak the teams are. Why have a 24 team playoff bracket and why qualifiers ? The pioneer league is d3/ naia material yet they’re guaranteed a spot in the bracket?? Laughable. Nowadays ..there will never be a time that a team outside the top 8 seeded wins the championship. Make it a 8 team bracket. That’s about 4 too many but it’s reasonable.

Went through the top 10 FCs teams. I compiled stats that show schedule strength. Top 10 teams based on current FCS ranking and their resume 1 Ndsu. 8-0. Opponents record 32-33 with wins vs four teams with a winning record 2. Tarleton 9-0 opponents record 24-47 one team with a winning record 3. Montana 7-0 (8-0 if D2 included) 26-31 opponent record. Three victories over teams with winning record 4. Montana st 6-2 . Two losses to Oregon and sdsu . 35-31 opponent records and 21-29 with only their wins. Three victories with teams with winning record 5.sdsu loss to Ndsu. 33-31 opponent records. 25-31 with their wins. Three victories over teams with winning records 6. UC Davis 6-1 loss to Washington . 24-33 opponent records 18-31 on their wins One win vs a team with a winning record 7. Lehigh 8-0 29 -32 opponent record and 5 victories against teams with a winning record 8 Tennessee tech 7-0 18-40 opponent records One victory over team with winning record 9 Monmouth 7-1 Loss to Colgate. 26-40 opponent record. Two victories against teams with winning record. 25-32 only their wins 10. Und 6-2 losses to K st and Montana 27-37 opponent record. Two victories against teams with a winning record 15-33 with their wins only

Very unsure of this game . Optics, stats, results say und should confidently win in a controlled manner. However ….it’s a rivalry game in their house against a team that will be throwing everything at the wall to test what works. The coyotes have nothing to lose. Win or no playoffs. They are firmly sitting in the win or go home situation. Und can expect the unexpected and see things that are not on tape. Und needs to be laser focused and not look ahead to next weeks game against the #1 team If und plays like they have been playing they will win. Not expecting a blowout. More like a single digit victory. need to keep the momentum on Unds side. Unlike years past …this year …und is capable of wining road games.

I would agree that but the starters were still in lineup for most of if not all of the 3rd qtr for sure. Its a moot point however as they have won pretty comfortably every win. Just a small gripe of mine at this point. Also. The D is back!!! Nice to see und being able subdue a team. That to me is the most impressive change this year. Impressive.

Fantastic win! Eric already has more road victories than bubba did total the last two years Imo und is currently the best team in the MVFC. Ndsu and sdsu haven’t impressed against the lower tier teams they have played. My words will be tested when November rolls around. Realistically und should be undefeated. The two losses were last second losses on the road to a ranked fbs team and top 3 FCS team. Und literally gave away the two games. They were clearly the better team in both I have one gripe. Und has led comfortably every game (7 games) so far at the half. Outscoring the opposition 167-37. The second half in every game has been disappointing though. 5 games they have been outscored. Only N Iowa and valpo have they outscored. Need a full game ! Need to keep the foot on the neck and go for the kill . Need to keep the intensity a full game! Could come back and bite them against a quality opponent. kaminski is as important of a player as there is in the fcs. He is truly one guy that CANNOT go down for und. Absolute stud.

Und might have some issues with their qb. But mind is at home and is the better team. 38-28 good guys

Let it go ! Wtf!? The dude isn’t the starter anymore. Hell of an athlete and from everything I have heard he is a great teammate. Think most everyone agrees / knows he shouldn’t have been the starter last year. At minimum …the coaching staff should have had given some backups playing time but it didn’t happen. That’s not on him. ND kid that’s plays with heart and is a great teammate that has above athleticism …..he belongs on the team. Just drop the Simon hate! Very old and boring Go Sioux !!

I wasn’t a fan of hiring another UND associate to be head coach. Mentioned that last year before and after his hire. But I have to give him the benefit of the doubt and roll with it. It’s an upgrade from bubba but how much ? 3 games in and two losses are directly on him. Not a great start After the K st game, even with the bad 4th qtr coaching calls, it seemed as tho things had changed. Felt different. Doesn’t feel that way anymore. Feels like every year since 09. If UND was definitely the better team yesterday why didn’t they win ? Coaching! The two losses fall solely on the coaching staff. Und WAS the better team in both losses. But they keep losing in a multiple head scratching ways on the road. unfortunately… it feels like the losing culture is in place . Im very frustrated yet excited. Love football and love und. I just want to see a competent coaching staff execute a complete game . Without a doubt und should be 3-0.

Just saw the score as I was unable to watch or listen. Looks like nothing has changed for und on the road. Always finding a weird or difficult way to lose. I had initially thought it felt different after the K st loss. I don’t feel that way anymore. Feels like the last decade + Hoping for the best the rest of the season

I agree. Hoping Schmidt can get some guys for next season. Portland st had 330 total yards in the first two games. 205 total so far and their first points in GF.

Man is Portland st an absolute mess ! Might be the worse D1 team in a long time . Feel bad for them actually. When they run out in the field the eye test says we’re playing Central . No way they win a game this year.
