Had Grady put forth the dedication he was on another planet. From what I could tell he never lifted a weight in his life, yet he was able to, as a true fresh, move d lineman at ease. When inserted to the lineup santiago excelled running behind him. His mobility and leverage was just incredible!! To be a difference maker as true fresh on the o line speaks for itself. Again, I bring up his hudl tape, 6'5" 290 playing LB and TE. He is/was a complete physical freak! He has now retired to the rez. RIP Grady
-
As my quote indicated, I'm not a betting man One last comment on Grady. Is living on a rez in nd really that much better then a free college education and a potential NFL career?? Apparently it is now a days
-
If I was I betting man I would be all in on that one.

They still have talent just very inexperienced. To lose a talent like Grady hurts, hurts bad, but he has better things to do I guess. Time to focus on the guys we have here and that want to be here. Stony has some very capable d line and we will see what we are working with during that game. Stockwell, Bell, cox, taylor and it sounds like Coe are a formidable group and am crossing the fingers they mesh quickly. And you're right, games are won in the trenches. Very frustrating as a und fan that the guys that leave or are asked to leave the last couple years are some very talented young men. It's not like the guys that are leaving are are 4th stringers. Grady, JIS, iwarri, merz, meindel that I can think of. Two potential 1st team to 2nd all Americans in Grady and meindel an JIS was looking fantastic this spring. Merz had the talent to be a menace.

Nfl talent wasted. What a shame

He will have a great mentor
-
Looks like the staff wants to replace santiago with a santiago clone. He will be a freshman when santiago is a senior.....couldn't ask for a better mentor !
-
Fantastic job by the coaches! I mentioned it before that he looks like dressler 2.0! Welcome Cameron !!!

Unds style isn't necessarily set up to blow out teams. They could dominate a team like wyoming and the score looks much much closer then it should of been. Being the 3rd game of the year , hoping the o line will be "gelled" by then. I believe this is the game they gel !! South Dakota plays our style of game and we all know that und is fantastic against the run, additionally, und will have been tested by this style of play against stony brook. Und wins it's first home game.

4 verbals ......3 from minnesota and 1 from wiscy. Great to see Und targeting and getting top level recruits from northern Midwest. Keep it going bubba and crew!! And welcome Connor
-
Yes! Welcome Leif! Keep em comin bubba.
-
Sfi reporting commit #3.....big time defensive player!
-
Not sure if we have but he is a talented young man! Like Teeder mentioned, he does have an offer from la tech. I also really like Leif bungum. Great hudl tape. Need to get these local recruits locked up!
-
Great news. Welcome noah!!!
-
Now it's on to his classmate......Parker rickert! Hope we can reel him as well.
-
Yes!! In bubba we trust!!!!
-
Have to agree with that. 3 weeks off without competition for competitive young men seems like a long time! However, I like the idea if we make the playoffs without a seed.
-
Mussman put the perception and reality of und football straight in the toilet! Bubbas finally above the water but the d1 transition has been brutal. I guess the perception of und football is " prove your worth" before being recognized. The reality is that they will prove it this year
-
I think that sounds about right in pre season polls. I will add that it's the end of the season polls that matter and they will be either straight out champ or co champs!!
-
Und can't hang with bowling green!?!? You kidding me! They could very well wipe up on und or und could wipe up them. But to say unquestionably that und simply can not "hang" is flat out ?????? Get a grip
-
We will agree to disagree. Were not playing an Oregon, Baylor......it's bowling green. Would you rather test it against an NAIA team??? Very winnable game against a team that on skilled position wise lost nearly everyone and a new coaching staff
-
I don't think you need to avoid them, I think you need to keep testing your weaknesses. If und is fortunate enough to make the playoffs, being tested during the regular season will only help for that style of play. We already know und is great against run.
-
Just looked at their roster to see who I was thinking of, it was Teo redding, a 6'1" 165 junior last year. Strictly a "go" route runner.
-
Bgsu welcomes back a load of experience on the o line. It will be a great test to our d line. I would expect Bgsu to completely underestimate our OLBs resulting in jawon and disterhuapt having career days. Just a hunch
-
congrats to them! I was thinking maybe taubenheim deserved kicker first team as well
