  1. Really? In five years people will barely remember this... (the majority of UND shareholders; siouxsports.comers are a minority) let alone care.
  2. Who's Whose Rival? MN and WI both consider UND their biggest hockey rival.
  3. I think its a great day in UND athletics when the administration listens to its coaches & fans. They are actually doing things to get things done at UND and not "waiting" around for a lame duck director to quit...etc. The free flow of truthful information is powerful.
  4. Those were quotes from someone else with contacts within UND, the football broadcaster, to point out the fact that he was missing from the game and other events, thus almost making the rumor almost 100% true Bunning will not be the AD at UND much longer. Those who don't see the reading between the line, also think Janet Jackson & Justin Timberlake's "nipple slip" was actually a warddrobe malfunction.
  5. Will UND be allowed to use the buy 1 get 1,000 free tickets like NDSU did for their first IAA game (against a nonscholarship school to make sure it was an easy win. Looks good in the history books ya know)? If so I do not forsee a non sellout.
  6. Not to mention its already old news, been in the Herald. Buning on the Way out.

    UND vs CWU

Its like watching a picture slideshow.

    UND vs CWU

I am pretty sure they are cheap and aren't buying ample bandwith to handle all the traffic. Probably doesn't happen when Michigan & USC games are broadcast on the web.
  9. Exactly. Talk is cheap. Those two games were probably 7 years ago, before the new Ralph.

    UND vs CWU

It is getting worse. I keep clicking the video link but no video at all. I listen to the audio and just hope to watch "highlights" on the video portion. Not happy.

    UND vs CWU

Glad to know I am not alone...even the devil voice. ha Hope things get better.
  12. Dan Hammer said (while thinking he was not on the air...I bought the video version for the football game so I guess there are no commercials on the air). He said...."there will be no pushups." "He hasn't been at sporting events for awhile." Sounds like Bunning is definately done and is definately adding validity to the RUMORS so many people have been talking about.

    UND vs CWU

Is it also constantly stopping for you (the video)? If I click on "audio only" it seems to work fine. The video portion not even "choppy" but stops completely.
  14. Without changing anything to my computer the "sample video" now works. some companies need to check themselves out tech wise before they tell people its "their fault." Another side note I bought a day pass to watch the Sioux football game for $6. It is only the opening kickoff but the video stops constantly. Very annoying, and if it keeps up it will be just like dataflix and not recommended, FYI.
  15. Would it not be that tough if UND & USD got into, say, the Gateway League? (down the road by maybe losing a couple members to make room). Thus almost controlling the conference to have it centered around them for future expansion? They would even have UNI as a conference friend.
  16. Someone has to suck.
  17. Nice Play.
  18. Grand Forks to Get New Hospital
  19. From the article: Maybe some major donors are already lined up for the new stadium.
  20. Talk about financial disaster for the Alerus Center if that happens.
  21. There will always be exceptions to the rule. Most schools want to grow. In everything: sports, financially, programs, population. If you aren't growing you are getting left behind. Even the UND President wanted "growth." The key thing here is that UND has lost enrollment every year since 2004 I don't think that is a good trend to continue. What is the critical point for enrollment: zero? To summarize, generally the larger the school the "more prestigious" the university. The largest school enrollment wise gets the most attention, UND. I would not want to be U of Mary, Dickinson State, et al. The University of Minnesota gets the most attention in that state. This can be said for numerous states.
  22. It is something to consider. The Four Schools somehow made it work pretty darn good for all those years in the NCC, until members left....... Is this why NDSU left the NCC? Having a pretty good team and sometimes not getting into the playoffs? Or was it truely the lure of FPS football? or Both? The key question is would NDSU join this conference?
  23. that the greatest long term benefit for UND as far as DI conferences goes would be to get a conference formed with NDSU, SDSU, and USD. There are four amazing state flagship schools that need to base a future conference around (the NCC - notice how iit will vanish after the four schools are gone). If this eventually works out Montana & Montana State will want to join it (if they are not already FBS/DIA). And possibly increasing attendance enough for the four schools to move collaberativly to DIA/FBS or at least position themselves. Three States with the top two schools from each state. It would be a helluva conference that would be great for all parties because of people wanting to attend the games with less travel. It would be solid for years because basketball (and other sports) can't leave to jump to a higher division. Only switch to a "better conference" but hence everyone will already be apart of it. Obstacles: No autobid in the near future. Need other members. Possibly Northern Iowa. I believe as SCSU grows (student wise) and becomes more of the "Metro" they will eventually move to DI or St. Thomas as a nonfootball (basketball) school. I think the four schools should collaberate and do a feasibility study to see how to make this work.
  24. I also think it is a concern that they rely on Aerospace and are not expanding and exploring some growth sectors like business. Something to think about would be how much larger NDSU would be than UND if UND did not ever start their aerospace program. One would think that UND having aerospace, the med school, and law that UND would be far larger enrollment wise than a nearby similar state university without those programs.
