Funny you keep mentioning UND, but the article never mentioned UND or any other colleges in North Daktoa. I guess theres a disagreement between NDSU and someone else UND must be involved somehow.

Do you think NDSU and its fans/media would have done/said anything, acted, different than UND did if the roles were reversed. I do not. So it really is all pointless arguements.

When UND leaves the NCC I don't expect NCC schools to schedule UND, like some other schools assumed. Yes lets help SDSU and NDSU in their transition years as they just helped weaken our conference. Yes we are so eager to schedule them. Nice logic. You don't break up with your girlfriend and then ask her to keep dating you until you find someone better.

Back to the original topic of this thread about USD and SCSU: This is how much weight UND carries in the NCC,

Davis has only been a DIAA school since 2003. So really how long could they have been "just fine before the great west"? The Great West is a temporary league for all members until they find something better. As witnessed by it already losing members. More than half the members of the GWFC were D2 a few short years ago, so if UND was to join them, it would be playing the same teams.

But is he right? Did Buning even say this? Or did the Forum interpret his words and made a major headline? The loss of the largest school in the Dakotas in the NCC will surely affect USD and SCSU. I look for both of them to move to D1 within the near future. The best long term solution would be to get into a conference with NDSU, SDSU, USD, SCSU, and a couple other regional schools. Best of both worlds. D1 is becoming so watered down with former division 2 schools. They even basically made a seperate football division for those schools. IAA. UND should move up. They have a larger enrollment and football attendance than the average IAA school.

The MidCon is desperate right now. Anyone could get into that conference. But like I said earlier, I'd rather be NCC D2.

Come October with a DI UND, both NDSU and SDSU could be in the MidCon therefore you essentially only have UND and three other school considered for expansion in the Big Sky. AFF, The last Big Sky meeting this May, Fullerton was interested in moving the conference to 12 teams. That is a fact try not to argue with it (I know it will be hard for you). Just because some members want to see what a report with ten members looks like doesn't mean they are definately NOT going to add 12 members. Its not like the Argus Leader has any inside info the rest of us don't.

I am not the one who said UND is in consideration for the Big Sky. The commissioner of the conference did, so yes I believe he is serious. Those are facts my friend. You can not deny those. Why do you get so upset? Odds might be slim, but he said they were interested in UND, a Division II school. Wonder why?

Show me an exact quote in a reputable source where this has been said. You won't, because no one at UND said it. It has been stated that having a conference lined up would HELP. It would not be required. Remember that game you use to play in elementary school, the telephone game, pass the saying down the line and see how it gets messed up by the end. However, I can't help pointing out that "North Dakota" is what gets written in articles on the sports page, not "University of North Dakota." The way I have it set up is the way to go if you want a true comparison. Searching "North Dakota State" gets you many things that aren't related to the university.
