  1. I am saying would UND hockey be as big as it is if UND was playing Division III hockey? Or Division III schools in Division I hockey? Would UND be drawing 11,000 a game for moorehead state, minot st, blackhills st, mayville st. Its not about adding schools to college hockey for the sake of expansion. Its quality over quantity. and UND needs to do what's best for UND. How far will attendance suffer in a water-down league? Attendance is basically at a peak. Not to mention you could say UND just lost over $180,000 ($15 extra a game ticket for playing Minnesota x 12,000) for Minnesota leaving the WCHA. (probably more if Wisconsin was scheduled to play at the ralph the same year unlike this one).
  2. It's like adding a Summit league school to out beloved WCHA. UND needs to do what's best for UND, not what's best for College Hockey. I could care less if "weaker" programs fold. They are exactly that: weak. If there was less teams in college hockey, Minnesota and Wisconsin would have to travel more for nonconference Big Ten games to places like UND. The Big Ten is not good for college hockey. The WCHA did not add BSU and Omaha cause it was good for college hockey, they did it cause they thought it was good for the WCHA. They knew Minnesota and Wiscosin were leaving and had to do something about it. If Minnesota and Wisconsin can leave the WCHA so should UND.
  3. Sweet. No pressure.
  4. Just like the team not celebrating certain trophies. I think it might be appropriate for us Sioux fans to take it one game at a time.
  5. Who they pick to win it all?
  6. Its close but I think it passes. There is a lot there available for sale (I believe) so that's the buffer. But in other words I guess that restaurant couldn't have a liquor license. stupid. Where as Olive Garden and Grizzly's would be back to back. lomackman is a troll with a -91 reputation please don't feed him.
  7. In case you missed it Olive Garden applied to the city council for a alcohol permit, but city law would need to be changed. It currently says liquor licenses need to be 300 feet apart. The olive garden would be too close to Grizzlys. Interesting to note that a Johnny Carinos (who many says might actually be better than the Olive Garden) actually opened in Bismarck before the Olive Garden did.
  8. The sad part is they can't even get that right! The Herald states: Unless I am mistaken, UND Fan said nothing of the sort. Hey Chuck, do I get credit for the correction? I only caught this cause I was like this doesn't "sound like" something UND Fan would post. I need a life.
  9. Forum Rules: Nope, Couldn't tell ya. But I will let the real moderators answer Meanwhile the thread about Don Lucia turned into a conversation about RWD. Which would seem to be against the rules: No thread hijacking or killing.
  10. I know your new and to please the administrators I will say: Welcome to Siouxsports.com But let me fill you in. UND can't host a regional in the hockey. The NCAA only awards them to neutral sites. The Ralph ain't in the running.
  11. I think its best you try and get over your doomsday fear. The Fighting Sioux ain't going anywhere. Its thelaw of the land!!! Not playing Wi and MInn? Ohh no way. We never played them besides hockey when we were D2. Seemed to get by fine.
  12. Good Poll. I like the majorities answer.
  13. Yeah tongue in cheek. I support the football team just as much as the hockey team.
  14. Gopher99 on gopherpucklive talking to a AA player after they swept the gophers: But I think this is old news?
  15. If the Gophers recruited the best in USA and Canada and not just from Minnesota they should realistically have just as many National Championships as UND if not more.
  16. Watch the game on tv.
  17. Or is it more amazing that UND fans think they would be allowed to watch Sioux home football games? People should be happy UND didn't drop football with the move to D1 like UNO just did. Wait a second did i just solve this "problem." I think UND should drop Sioux football! Boom Problem Solved. It would save the athletic department millions. More money for hockey hockey hockey. The logo means more than the athletes? Is that what some people think? UND will still have the same number of athletes. The football program will have the same number of scholarships. The players will still get to play football and they will know they won't have home playoff games. It sounds like the fans might care more about winning than the student athletes themselves.
  18. Shatel: Mavericks' move up is smart but bittersweet Truer words have never been spoken.
  19. The long term gains are much greater than the short term "problems."
  20. The gophers problem is they are so arragant they believe they can be competitive with just players from one state. Groupthink sets in. Thank gosh the Sioux go after the best players in the world no matter where they are from.
  21. I believe this team (Fighting Sioux) was picked to finish last in the Great West. Good Job Team.
  22. How much money does UMD, Duluth, Mankato, Bemidji make off there games. And how are they able to afford a penalty clock?
  23. And how much would it cost? $1,000,000,000?
  24. That's so cute. Your publically stating how you don't like this place. haha You are a good sioux fan haha. That is the post of the year. All because the law says UND can't change its name. hahaha.
  25. Darell please stop pulling sh*t out your azz. The only thing that will happen if they don't comply is no home football playoff game.
