So, are we now saying that those that support Nodaks do not support the University? Have not read that posted anywhere that I can remember. I know some that voted for Nodaks and to say they do not support the University as a whole can not be further from the truth. Again, this division crap is such a joke. We all support the University of North Dakota or we wouldn't be on here. Well, except for the people that post here that are fans of other schools. Hopefully after the new nickname is in place the University can get past this. -

My point is that it doesn't matter what the nickname becomes; there will continue to be references to the historical past throughout UND athletics inside and maybe even outside the locker rooms. And, yes, I believe this will occur in other sports beyond hockey. I believe they should remember and honor the history of the program. In my opinion, it is pathetic that people have gone out of their way to create a faux rift between the hockey program and the rest of the university as this nickname bs has dominated the conversation the past few years.

You really believe that the only way that the hockey program continues to reference the history of the program and the school's former nickname is by swaying the vote to "Nodaks"? Really? Yeah, the hockey team wants Nodaks, so that's what I'm voting for. Good grief.

I think the "selling newspapers" bit is wore out. There's this newfangled way now to get the news called the internet. If you hear that the Herald has printed a story on a topic, all you have to do is CLICK and read it online. Maybe 20 years ago, but not now.
