UND started the football trend of the field being school colors.

As a part of the settlement agreement between the State of ND (UND) and the NCAA, the State gave up the right to sue the NCAA on this subject in the future. Spirit Lake could have ended this in 2005 or 2006 with a simple two word letter, "See attached", and a copy of their 2000 statement (stating that they had no problem with UND's usage as long as something good came of it). Spirit Lake dropped the ball.

Better use of the time? From now until the vote start convincing the "on the fence" voters to vote yes. And be sure to get the yes folks, all of them, out to vote.

I think Idaho and the BSC will "meet in the middle". I suspect the superconferences will ask for (spelled: demand) a new tier of DI footballl for just them. That'll leave the bottom 50 of FBS and FCS to sort things out.

Like I mentioned in another forum, I heard something that I hadn't heard before when I was in the western part of the state this weekend: Some out west are viewing Measure 4 as a referendum on Al Carlson and voting "Yes" is their way of giving a "no confidence" vote toward Carlson.

No, scheduling is a contract of consent between two agreeable parties: it takes two to tango. UND would be an agreeable party to MInnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa; however, those three will never be the second party to North Dakota as long as UND is under NCAA sanctions for the moniker.

What about those of us who still want to see UND field a team? Or is it all about Dave?

I've heard it as "Puh-REE-zee" if you're talking about the name above the "9" on the back of a Devils jersey.

The football guys who understand the impacts (no home football playoff games, ever) are some of the biggest, "Yes, retire it" folks out there.

Dormitories are not required either, but most schools have them as a valuable benefit to the college experience.

Why change it? Anyone can ask folks to abide by the terms and conditions of the board. If you'd prefer I could have Jim give me an Administrator account and then I could start tossing out suspensions for violations like cheap bubble gum at a Fourth of July parade. Would that be better?
