  1. I'm prouder of the date I joined the forum (Joined 04-October 01) as a member. I think I'm member number eight here.
  2. DaveK doesn't believe it when UND people explain it to him. Let's see if he can understand it coming from a Bison.
  3. Football guys? Did I say football guys?
  4. Here are the simple realities: http://www.undalumni.org/page.aspx?pid=4745 The specifics of the issues: http://www.undalumni.org/page.aspx?pid=4605 http://www.undfoundation.org/document.doc?id=1923
  5. I believe in the future the pronounciation of "Parise" may change to "Conn Smythe".
  6. Just another reason why "The Mafia" would be a great new moniker.
  7. You can't take pictures directly from your computer. Get a hyperlink to the picture on the web, and then click the "Image" button above the text box that you put your post into. And with that we're done giving "Web Posting 101" and return this thread to it's normal topic.
  8. Is it true Vito's beat you guys on a "Hail Mary"?
  9. I've heard it as "Puh-REE-zee" if you're talking about the name above the "9" on the back of a Devils jersey.
  10. The football guys who understand the impacts (no home football playoff games, ever) are some of the biggest, "Yes, retire it" folks out there.
  11. Dormitories are not required either, but most schools have them as a valuable benefit to the college experience.
  12. Why change it? Anyone can ask folks to abide by the terms and conditions of the board. If you'd prefer I could have Jim give me an Administrator account and then I could start tossing out suspensions for violations like cheap bubble gum at a Fourth of July parade. Would that be better?
  13. If you have a YouTube link, just copy it and paste it in your post. Too tough? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEXHeTcxQy4&ob=av2e
  14. This message was from the Moderation Team.
  15. yababy8 geaux_sioux Stop with the name calling now.
  16. Arkansas State was a full DI before August 5, 2005. The former Indians are now the RedWolves. The transition from DII to DI mattered not. Policy is policy and the NCAA's policy affects all membership levels (DI, DII, or DIII).
  17. What difference will that make? How will that get UND off sanctions? Please be specific.
  18. Please define the lies. Be specific as that lends to your credibility.
  19. This is hilarious. I remember when moniker opponents were asking that same question of a past SiouxSports poster who supported the name. It's a weak-sauce tactic.
  20. You do realize voting no will embolden Al Carlson and his minions to continue to try to override the ND SBoHE and that will ultimately harm all ND universities. So if that's your mindset and how you choose to vote, I'll just quote Homer Simpson: "Good for yo-o-o-ou." <-- meet "sarcastic clap guy"
  21. The State is out of options. In signing the settlement agreement the State gave up the right to sue the NCAA again. The Gophers play Illinois because Illinois is not under NCAA moniker sanctions. The key isn't the name, it's whether or not the school is under NCAA sanctions for the name.
  22. For someone paying attention you've missed some key details: - NO HOME NCAA PLAYOFF GAMES (devastating to FB and WH) - no use of the logo or name on the road at NCAA events (that's two sets of jerseys for all sports, or maybe just one NCAA-compliant set) - "best practices" scheduling recommendation to the NCAA members -- what's that? Well, that's what Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and SDSU are doing, namely, don't schedule teams under NCAA moniker sanctions Those are the sanctions. They are happening now. And Dale Lennon has admitted the side-effects. He flat stated that recruits are steering away from UND because of these sanctions. That's reality. It's here. It's now. And it's a slow, sucking chest wound. You may be able to breathe right now, but it'll kill you. And that's exactly how the NCAA designed it.
  23. There's a way to keep the name, but as Dave Hakstol said, keeping the name guarantees a slow degradation of all of UND Athletics, including mens hockey. And when Athletics is dead and gone, so is the moniker. So guess what: No matter the outcome of the vote the moniker is dead. It's just a matter of when do we close the casket. I'm voting yes to close the casket and move on.
  24. Did you just admit you're simply a poseur and a troll?
