  1. Is it an "insult" to LeBron James to say he knows nothing about nuclear reactor design? When it comes to tribal affairs I'll ask Archie Fool Bear, Eunice Davidson, and Frank Black Cloud. When it comes to running a college athletics program I'll ask Brian Faison and Ray Purpur.
  2. Dear "AlphaGriz1", Good guests do not arrive boisterous and pompous in another's "house". You'd be upset if someone did that at eGriz.
  3. Who was that nut-bag that said ... "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
  4. We couldn't be sure until Al's Traveling Road Show got sent packing from Indianapolis. How dare I say that? The NCAA created a namesake exemption that got some schools off the hook back in 2005. That's "give". The state got three years to seek approval from two Sioux tribes without NCAA interference. That's "give". Seems there was some "give" potential there ... until Al's Traveling Road Show proved there was no more "give" from the NCAA.
  5. The math didn't go "net negative" until there was no doubt the NCAA wouldn't budge (and that the Big Sky was starting to make noise). Once that changed, so did I. More amazing to me is that in all of this the only thing you could create a retort to is Custer's rank. Too much time out in the sun?
  6. Guess what. I do too. I look out for the University of North Dakota first, and above the rest. PCM can vouch for me, but long ago I said (to him), "The minute the moniker becomes a net negative to UND it has to go." Well, NCAA sanctions, risk losing the Big Sky, the damage already out there in recruiting (per Dale Lennon), not to mention the "political football" aspects PCM brought up, the math says the moniker hit 'net negative' so it was time for it to go.
  7. Chewey, will you be helping Soderstrom with his appeal? I suggest you tell him to try the "Chewbacca defense". It'll be as solid as what I saw in front of Judge Erickson. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clKi92j6eLE
  8. Why redo Hyslop for BB? Betty for 3000-ish. REA lower bowl for under 6000-ish. Aleris Center holds up to 9000 for BB. REA holds up to 13000 for BB (love to have such a problem).
  9. You forgot the Tri-Lateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations. I expect three hours on Coast-To-Coast AM with George Noory covering all of this very soon.
  10. Mott-Regent HS, Mott, ND. http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/mott-regent-wildfire-(mott,nd)/football/home.htm
  11. http://www.hockeydb.com Consider yourself now knowing "how to fish".
  12. All you said was " ... made it do [sic] the NHL ... "; you didn't say "career." Don't like "Jensen" as an answer? How about "Lefty" and the WHL? (Yeah, it's not the NHL ... ) http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=6669
  13. Darren Jensen: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=6906
  14. How do the pollsters keep Montana and Montana State straight?
  15. I guess I never knew the definition of "unhappy victory" before you demonstrated it so well here.
  16. I used to love guys who'd wear the glass shield. I'd put a little greasy stuff on the outside edge of my glove and any chance I'd get I'd put a little grease onto the visor of an opponent. It's not easy to play while looking through a dirty, greasy window.
  17. Dear Don "Chewey" Quixote, the windmill you're looking for is in Indianapolis. PS - Please, eschew polysyllabic profundity and eschew sesquipedalian obfuscation.
  18. The world is out to get NDSU doncha know. " ... paranoia, the destroyer ... " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9ObLGRq33o
  19. I have $10 that says that was not the biggest administrative error that day at the NCAA the day that was shipped. I have another $10 that says that wasn't a "top ten" administrative screw-up for that week at the NCAA.
  20. As of the YES vote on Measure 4 and the ND SBoHE's actions at their June 14 meeting, no, the sanctions are no longer in place against UND because it no longer has a moniker that is in non-compliance with the NCAA policy.
  21. Do I need to call the Securities Exchange Commission on you (for "insider trading")?
  22. The only way you can make that statement is if you are really Gene Taylor. Otherwise, the most you can say is that you can " ... speculate that the result would have been ... " However, as others have pointed out, your speculation and the NSDU track record may not align.
  23. No, people who had no problem with the logo but were cornered by the NCAA into having to retire it are victims of a bad policy. Rather than harping on us, why not go and fix the NCAA. You seem to have the answers. PS - So 67.35% of those who voted on Measure 4 are "elitists" doing the "NCAA's bidding"? If that many are "elite" I guess it's not such an elite group. http://results.sos.nd.gov/resultsCTY.aspx?text=BQ&type=SW&rid=285&cty=0&osn=915&map=CTY&districtLG=1
  24. Seat belt law? Naw, not similar enough. The State of North Dakota only mandates that motorcycle riders wear a helmet if they are under 18 years of age. You ever had a dragonfly bounce off your cheek bone at a hundred and ... , er, ... uh, ... at the legally posted speed limit? So the comparison: Speed. Check. Force. Check. Risk of eye or facial damage. Check. Post impact concussion. Check. Having your head open up spilling your grey matter after you slide on the surface ... uh, not seeing that in hockey so much .. Seems to me motorcycling is more dangerous but that doesn't mandate a helmet, much less facial protections, if you are 18 years or older.
