Adrian Peterson wants trade to Cowboys
The Sicatoka replied to fightingsioux4life's topic in Non-collegiate sports
I'm sure DeMarco Murray is thrilled to hear this. -
Saturday's UMD at Miami game: - camera operators - average to slightly above - producer - should be fired immediately* *You need to stay with the primary camera for 75% or more of the game. This person kept going for tight shots during live play which is difficult for the best of the best to pull off. The secondary cameras are for replays and stoppages or when the puck is in a corner scrum. This person should be made to watch NBCSN doing the NHL for no fewer than ten games to begin to get a clue of how to produce a hockey telecast.

He can't be serious. Long before I'd take CHI: 19, 81, 88, and 10 PIT: 87, 71, 14, and 72 (or 39) BOS: 37, 46, 63, and 17 LAK: 11, 12, 23, and 77 ANA: 10, 15,17, and 21 WAS: 8, 19, 90, and 21 STL: 42, 74, 91, and 20 (or 26) and that's just thinking forwards.

You feeling OK? You're talking hockey without a negative tone.

The NCHC held a camp for officials before the season. The NCAA used to run with a (one) referee and two linesmen on the ice. I'm advocating going to that on the ice and a live "eye in the sky". And I'd like to see USA Hockey, the IIHL, and the NHL create a developmental program for officials. You find the good ones from the lower ranks, and move them ON MERIT AND SKILL through HS, juniors, the NCAA, the AHL, and finally the best end up in the NHL. We claim officials are professionals; why not run them up to the pro ranks the same way the pro players get there.

Yes, a supervisor is there WITHOUT GAME AUTHORITY. Put the second game referee in the press box; connect him/her wirelessly to the on-ice guy so either can call penalties. Why? I've been told Mike Schmidt was in the press box for the DU game in question and he was baffled by what was and wasn't being called on the ice. In this system instead of a guy with 20+ years of experience just polishing a chair and giving feedback he'd be calling the game (even though he can no longer skate at the pace of it). You could train new officials with this press box guy before they ever step on the ice too: start upstairs, move to the ice, retire back upstairs.

I'd like to beat NDSU ... in January 2016.

Why not throw an O'D goal in there while you two are at it.

So when does the NCAA"s five-year clock start? Is the clock running for that "ineligible freshman" so effectively everyone redshirts? Better yet, if this is such a wonderful idea, why just football and mens basketball? Why not all sports? Is there something different about the "student-athlete" being recruited in those sports that potentially makes them need to "get more academic advising" than other recruits? <-- That is rhetorical, meaning it does not expect or want anyone to directly answer it, because it is a grenade without a pin. But it would be interesting to hear the B1G explain their singling out those two sports. If the schools are worried about how their freshman recruits are doing academically, why aren't they recruiting better students who are athletes (instead of athletes who might be students)?

Good question. I'm hoping it appears as an option now that the womens game is done. EDIT: And with that, it appears.

Cheech. Chong.

When'd you move to Colorado? Or is it Washington?
-
Is the B1G aligned by common sports interests, or by the Committee on Institutional Cooperation. BIG sports make them money; CIC is where the real money is.
-
It exists (too lazy to find it but there are links on this board to it in threads). Basically, when the join date (July 2014) arrived for Idaho to come back to the BSC, if UM, MSU, and UND were not in the BSC Idaho could leave *and* get their deposit to join back.

Precisely. It didn't matter enough so they let it go. As far as SL, the NCAA wanted an updated affirmation from the tribal council (not their past statements). They never got that from SL.

It's a McRib but without the meat. No. Wait. That's called ... a McRib.

The B1G has set an unexpected precedent by adding Johns Hopkins for B1G Lacrosse only. Should Notre Dame make serious noise about leaving HEA for the NCHC I'd expect the B1G to make a move. Would it be "hockey only" or would they stick with "all or nothing" with the Domers is the question.

That seems out of character for a power run team.

Put the second official upstairs. http://boardsroom.blogspot.com/2015/02/what-nchc-needs-to-change.html

Didn't the last Legislature somehow open up the university foundations to public audit? EDIT: Found it. It wasn't the legislature. Public entities are open to state audit.
-
That's been known for a while.

Bologna. That tribal majority could vote in a tribal council that would enact what the majority wants. What's that you say? They'll vote other tribal issues before worrying about a nickname at a university? That must mean those other issues are more important to them. If it's important you do what it takes. The majority at SR (and SL?) have let this one go and left UND out to dry.

I don't like to count eggs as chickens.

Frank missed the (tribal) majority's deafening silence; the majority have spoken by saying and doing nothing.
