I have no unique insights or information on this subject. I just have my observations of people and their behaviors. First, I would be shocked to find out all of this happened in a vacuum. I want to believe Grady would go to the coaches and let them know what's going on in his life. If Grady went to Bubba with a situation as some have speculated/stated, what would Bubba say? What would Bubba recommend? Not having a neural link directly to Bubba's mind I can only speculate (based on observations), but I'd guess Bubba'd say: finish out fall semester (don't waste that work), then be where you need to be for family and commitments you've made by your actions, but don't lose sight of your education (like community college). After you take care of those first things the situation can be re-evaluated. Or, I could be all wrong.

Many folks like to say team is family, and they're right. But blood is family.

Weasel words? One man's weasel words is another's posing of a hypothetical question. I see that as posing a hypothetical question without the overhead of explicitly saying "Hypothetically, could it be he wants ... ". I have no problem with hypothetical questions because they make one think critically, and outside of one's comfort zone, about a situation.

Idaho is playing SBC FB in 2016 and 2017. That's already in the contract. This is the "something NOW" action set in preparation for the 2018 FB season. If Idaho gets punted from the SBC in a couple weeks and the NCAA acts in March shortly after that (when they are meeting), that's two years from the start of the 2018 FB season. Shockingly enough, two years is the duration of an FCS --> FBS transition ( see: Volley's theory ) I'm not saying it's going to happen (lots and lots of moving parts in many, many places), but the timeline behind Volley's theory is still in play.

I can't decide what you're more upset about: - Ed Schafer coming onto the scene for UND, leading by setting firm expectations for departments to meet, and fixing the budget shortfall issues in very short order (and you know a former governor would not blow smoke about having done something like that), or - NDSU embarrassing itself by putting out a one-line budget reduction "plan" (and getting called out on it by their local media mouthpiece). It's probably Schafer, because nothing NDSU could do, even putting out that farce of a plan document, would you ever question.

Omaha's RPI is pretty good so that wins a lot of PWR comparisons. Then you do toss in their non-conference record and you win a lot of common opponent comparisons.

Is that problematic* in that NDSU student government asked a direct question and didn't get a direct answer from NDSU Athletics? *Problematic in the state law open records, freedom of information, sense.
