  1. Won't disagree with you. I was just looking at necessary winning percentages (0.667 < 0.750), not who's on the schedule.
  2. You touched on another issue. Too many guys are playing "out of position". Tyson Jost is a machine, but he's a freshman and under six feet tall. Right now he should be the #2 center on the team. It feels like everyone is shifted up a role from where they should be. I suspect that has to do with all the early departures last spring.
  3. BC and Lowell do home and home Thursday and Friday. USAFA hosts Sacred Heart Penn State is at Michigan State Ohio State hosts Michigan Wisconsin is at Minnesota Cornell hosts RPI Notre Dame is at BU Providence is at UMass Vermont hosts Merrimack SCSU is at DU Omaha is at UND
  4. My take on Jim's updated end of season forecast. The target line is PWR13 or better. Wisconsin and Ohio State are in better shape than UND. They need 4 of 6. UNO is in the same place as UND: 3 of 4. BC and Vermont and USAFA are hurtin': They have to win 2 of 2 to be at 13. Notre Dame and Cornell and Providence can go 1 of 2 and still be PWR13. SCSU can go 2 of 4. PSU has to go 3 of 6. DU, UMD, Harvard, UMn, WMU, BU, Union, and UMLowell all appear to be safely in.
  5. That's out of date. The updated number is that UND must win 3 of 4 remaining regular season games to stay PWR14 or better. http://collegehockeyranked.com/forecast/pwrbywins/ There's no margin left.
  6. He doesn't look a day over 159.
  7. 100% agree. I don't see UND going below 16.
  8. Nope. Win this shift.* That's all there is. *That's a rip-off of the "make 'em snap it again" of the UND Football defense mantra.
  9. I know he haunts here, so I'll quote the "Let's Go DU" blog from October 2016: https://letsgodu.com/2016/10/06/state-cuts-will-likely-impact-summit-league-membership/ That says seven total: MBB, WBB, plus five is seven total.
  10. Because the UND men's team is paying the whole bill for the use of REA for everyone: them, women's hockey, MBB, WBB, VB, and soccer (locker rooms). Moving women's games to Purpur would ADD (not save) expenses to an already RED by $1.4 million women's hockey budget (again, they don't pay ANY facilities charges now). The city wouldn't let them use Purpur for free. If you want the women in a smaller venue with NO additional cost it's the REA Olympic rink.
  11. Boeser had the advantage last year of everyone focused on Caggiula and Schmaltz. It gave him lots of free space. Now that he's the center of attention, with less time and space, it's had an impact on his game. If I were The Cou, I'd take a good hard look at that. He should be more dominant. It might be injuries; it might be he's being shut down. The 11 sophomores and 8 freshmen have talent. But when they're playing against upperclassmen all the time it's tough to show it. The current seniors are Ausmus and Matty Rinks. The juniors are T Poolman, Cam Johnson, Pogo, Simonson, and Olson. Sorry, I'm not seeing a whole ton of leadership out of that crew. Yeah Gage, I said it. That too is leading to struggles. Who'll I miss? If Tucker and Cam go, definitely. I'd miss Pogo, but I believe a healthy JJ can be that power forward.
  12. First, it's here somewhere but the Summit League requires MBB, WBB, plus just five additional sports. Next, Melvin, eight years? Wha-cha talking about?
  13. No photos, that way you don't know what I look like. I don't want to end up like Tupac or Biggie Smalls. But, here is the flash back rap attack thread, and it really is from that long ago ...
  14. How many guys from last year's team are in the NHL right now? How many guys from this year's team will be playing in the NHL a year from now? Last year's freshmen weren't asked to do all the much because of all the talent around them. Between those 11 now sophomores and 8 freshmen, yeah, you see a team that looks flustered at times.
  15. Good grief. Look at his methodology: He puts in the current regular season winner as a proxy for the post-season tournament champion. He needs a placeholder for the slot. As I said, I don't see BC wining that nor do I see UND winning its post-season tourney. Moy could just as easily say the highest PWR team is in as the current regular season leader.
  16. ... no dog in the fight. I wish WF had made it for just one reason: I could go back to my Pack Attack "8 Mile" rap persona. Wurd.
  17. But the seeding isn't done right now. BC is as likely right now to win the HEA auto bid as UND is to win the NCHC's.
  18. I figure 16 and 15 are autobids so 14 is as low as you dare go.
  19. No, I read Jim Dahl's analytical analyses.
  20. Current PWR says you're mistaken. It also says all the margin is used up.
  21. About 125 hours. They dug themselves an ugly hole. If they play with the must win mindset now successfully they'll have given themselves some cushion, some margin, or if not successfully they'll be in it for real.
  22. I do believe that was a maxima, yes. The question is if this minima is due to that, or is the natural following minima because the Schmaltz maxima was the answer to the prior minima. Either way, this is a minima. It will get better sooner or later.
  23. The law of averages or the Central Limit Theorem will always find its way.
  24. This team doesn't have the top end talent like others of the past five years. Normally I'm wondering who the seventh forward is (the guy ready to jump into the top six). This year I can't find the fifth. What would Luke Johnson or Keaton Thomson on D do for this team this season? But, all that aside: You play the hand you're dealt. This team had the "2016 Champs" bullseye on their backs all season. They've been getting the other team's best game. Now they're being left for dead. I'm actually good with that. Look past this team. That's the one advantage, break, they could use right now.
