Honestly, if they really are 8 deep, that's not a bad plan at all.

NORTH DAKOTA vs. Michigan State - FRIDAY Gameday ********
The Sicatoka replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Like I said, if fat and sassy after last week shows up we lose. Something worse beyond that showed up: Immaturity. They thought they could just show up and win. I blame leadership for not heading that off, and not Berry and his staff. That kind of maturity comes from the C and As. You knew last year what you were getting every night from Jewels and Chyzyk and the Coltons (S and StC). What we have right now is two seniors (one is a backup goalie) and five juniors. None are really leading by example. They're all up and down game to game. That's no example or standard. Given that, it might be time for Rhett Gardner and the sophomores to set the pace and tone. -
It wasn't just the ladies yesterday ...

I pinged Jim about this (as he's mostly unavailable this week). His answer:

So the DAPL starts at Stanley (north of the lake) goes west to Trenton and then turns south and crosses the Missouri River to go toward Watford City and then southeast toward Standing Roc ... what!?!?! The DAPL has already crossed the Missouri River upstream of Standing Rock and upstream of Bismarck. (See page 2 of 5) What's the problem again?

Now that I've said what I needed to say (see two posts prior), this is what I said while watching UR@W&M on Saturday: The game was still in reach for UR and yet they had no answer for W&M's one-man* running game. He was gashing them even though it was clear (single back, 12 or 13 personnel groupings) the run was coming. *W&M Kendall Anderson, 42 carries for 219 yards (plus 4 receptions for 42 yards). http://www.espn.com/college-football/boxscore?gameId=400872760

If you ever need facepalm after facepalm (or is it LOL after LOL) follow Rob Port on Twitter. He seems to have his nightly "run-ins" with the #NoDAPL crowd.

Flip that inside out: Win 5, get decimated, lose 6. What's that say?
-
Reality is MattyRinks is a senior and Cam probably won't be here next year.

Play the far conference; play the near non-conference or Play the far non-conference; play the near conference.

If a team that knows it's not that good, yet, shows up to work, I'm not concerned. If a team that's all fat and sassy based on last weekend shows up, well, see: v. Wisconsin last season.
-
Don't sleep on The Military College of South Carolina, aka The Citadel. They're angry about being seeded (so low in their eyes) #6 and you could see it in the selection show yesterday.
-
Yup. This is a wide open trap. The team feels good about itself after last weekend. Well ... here's the reality check: 2-4-2 in the last 8 games.

Depending on how things go Friday, do we see something not named Cam Johnson in the blue paint Saturday night?
-
The committee chair said they seeded the top eight by the process, so getting SDSU (1 v 8 bracket) was the reality. That wasn't going to be adjusted away. What would NDSU fans prefer over the winner of USanD@CalPoly? The ISU(red)@UCA winner? The Samford@YSU winner? Other?
-
Honestly, those two opening losses happened for a reason. There were things that the team needed to learn those days. Better then than during conference play.
-
The first two out (Albany 7-4; Fordham 8-3) have to be feeling like UND last year, namely ... "A 6-5 team over us? MoVaFoBa bias!"
-
C'mon man. I expected you to be a MoValleyFB-bobo all the way. Won't ISU(red) be coming to Grand Forks?
