I watched the majority of OSU/UW and PSU/UMn yesterday. The B1G plays down the middle of the ice. There's no board play. And because of that it seems that any heavy contact is automatically a penalty. The female companion watching with me called them "fluffy cake-eaters*". *You know it's bad when she sees it, recognizes it, and calls it out.

The replays I saw did not show contact to the head of Kunin. (Was watching the game live on BTN.) Was the hit on Kunin dangerous because it was at the bench and not where there's glass? Yes. But not worth a major.

"Violent" is a relative term it seems. I still can't believe that hit on Kunin late in the OSU/UW game was worth a major (much less a minor).

Do they do regular season TV timeouts for this tournament or do they go with NCAA TV timeouts? Trusting my memory and observations, regular season NCHC TV timeouts are for one minute each at the first natural stop* in play under 15, 10, and 5. I believe NCAA TV timeouts are for two minutes each and I don't remember how many or when. *Not at penalty called, not at infraction like icing to give the icing team a break; things like puck out of play or goalie stop.

Frankly, he hasn't dominated college games like a guy ready for the NHL. Sure, injuries. But, a lot of his season last year was folks focusing in Caggiula and Schmaltz. Now that he's the focus he is being neutralized. His best games lately are when he's not on the top line (and facing the other team's top line).

Q is awesome, but does he really pass Phil Jackson? When Q comes back as head MBB coach and wins a title, sure. UND Basketball's "Mount Rushmore"? Q definitely on it.
