  1. It's negotiations. As a wise one said to me recently, when they come to you you ask for the moon. Sure, they don't play FCS teams any more. But, why not ask for an exception. Most they can say is no and if they do you drop it.
  2. UND, UMD, BSU, MSUM. Rotate the host site through those four.
  3. Well, if there's no UMBC, MVC tennis ... dead.
  4. Like when this came up before, if the BTHC is comin' and askin' UND should realize they are in a good negotiating position. If I am in the negotiations ... MUSTS (non-negotiables): - UND controls days/times of home games ( Fri@730 / Sat@700 unless UND decides otherwise) - UND gets secondary media rights for games not taken by BTN (meaning Midco regional cable or Fox regional cable) - B1G plays NCHC exit fees; no entry fees to BTHC - annual check from BTN equal to 10% of the check U of Minnesota gets from BTN. Additional negotiating points: - we'd really like a once in rotating four years exception to allow a B1G school to play UND in football (feel free to add here)
  5. Really? < transcript starting at 21:11 > "Supposedly they're trying to recruit North Dakota for hockey but they don't want to write out the check. You know, if I'm North Dakota I make them give me five million dollars." http://www.1500espn.com/shows/saturday-sportstalk/ (link to April 8, hour 1, show is what you want)
  6. Looking here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missouri_Valley_Conference MVC MTen is: Drake, Ill State, SIU, Wichita, and affiliates Stony Brook and UMBC. Wichita is gone. Stony Brook has dropped the sport. SIU dropped the sport. Drake and Ill State had to make a move (Summit). I'm guessing UMBC is scrambling.
  7. Yup. They are staying hybrid ACC otherwise.
  8. Our Lady of South Bend kept their rights to their NBCSN deal so they get nothing.
  9. http://www.1500espn.com/shows/saturday-sportstalk/ (link to April 8, hour 1, show is what you want) At the 20:36 mark speculation about who the B1G goes after next (all sports). At the 21:08 mark mention of B1G Hockey and who their target is (and what the hold-up may be*) *Reusse et al floated a number of $5 million of BTN annual revenues. Who knows where they came up with that.
  10. The Wells Fargo stagecoach doesn't go there?
  11. Well, ... uh, ... yeah. The news there isn't the bolded portion; it's that Reusse would say it. If it were internet fantasy and pure poppycock he wouldn't bring it up.
  12. Yes, but the old school, east coast, private institutions need bankrolls like that just to keep the lights on.
  13. Conference != NCAA
  14. Uh, ... Fort Wayne (IPFW). Indianapolis (IUPUI). Kansas City (UMKC).
  15. The UMD left hand tug on Hammond's left shoulder was interference. It is designed to put the opponent off stride and to give an advantage. Zach Parise is a master of the "little tug" technique but he uses the stick to give just a nibble of a tug on the shoulder but it's enough to give an advantage.
  16. The officials say they don't want to be the deciding factor in the game. Have they ever considered that by not calling the game by the rules they are deciding the game in favor of the team that goes the furthest outside the rules?
  17. That's so cute. You actually think that nostalgic idea of "enforcing" a "rule book" is something we should still do. The hit that happened from behind at the benches, when I happened I said if that's not a major there's not a major to be called in this game.
  18. Worked Nick Schmaltz. He stripped a lot of pucks off of sticks.
  19. Sidebar: I saw the rules about booting you off if no one takes the "volunteer your seat" offer yesterday. If they boot you, if they get you there 1-2 hours late (versus original arrival time) they owe you 2x the price of your ticket. If they boot you, and if they get you there more than 2 hours late (versus original arrival time) they owe you at least 4x the price of your ticket!
  20. Pogo, Simo, and Olson are seniors. (Sorry Cam, you're a goalie.) Gardner (a junior) seems likely to be back as a senior (moreso than Gersich, who'd be the other choice).
  21. No Tampa. No Nashville.
  22. Creepin' the social media ... However, if they had it there in the past and removed it, well, in the trade that's called "a tell".
  23. 2016 is hung. Windshield, not mirror.
