  1. 1A. Think: Fort Wayne or WIU. Either of them go and the BB autobid goes. 2A. Yes. * 3A. Greed and egos are involved so sooner than later. *OK, OK, my assessment is Chaves left EWU for Grand Forks so "not" for EWU. Weber I don't know much about.
  2. I was still in, didn't realize it, and didn't pick Round 3 ... < facepalm > ...
  3. Anyone know where I can send a few bucks so they can have appropriate models around the new building model?
  4. I stand by the following statements: 1. The Summit is one school away from being in trouble with its BB autobids, and that one school is any one of about four schools. 2. The split between haves and have nots in the Big Sky is bad and will only get worse and will probably contribute to fracture (see: WCHA realignment as example). 3. Something will give, or break, or change, and western conference realignments will occur, primarily affecting football.
  5. Where's the website with the fly-through Flash video?
  6. Sanford built the 10 story mega-structure where it is to head off a West Fargo hospital.
  7. That's a lot of Legos!
  8. After how many beers?
  9. I'd give Ms McGarry much more credence if she'd spell out her specific concerns with President Kennedy. Until then I'll thank her for her opinion and weight it accordingly, namely, as an opinion without enumerated issues behind it.
  10. Grimaldi is in; he's played 2 so far for NAS. Wolanin is in; he's appeared in 1 so far for OTT.
  11. That, frankly, is the best data point you've been able to point to, namely, why are all of these making the same noises at the same time. Quite the curious coincidence if it is.
  12. 867-5309? They seem more the 634-5789 type ...
  13. I can understand SV's vision of better western alignments by academics via athletic conferences. It makes sense. For example Idaho >>> SUU academically. And SV is correct in that presidents make the decisions and ADs are directed to act and may not always be in the know until directed. All that said, 'paw is correct in the assessment that there are a lot of moving parts here and no seals have failed*. Allow me one observation of my own: If the northern tier of the BSC were to jump to say an FCS Summit you'd need an emissary, a bridge between the western group (UI, UM, MSU, EWU, WSU) and the Summit group (UxDs, xDSUs, UNO, DU, **). That bridge? Well ... seems to me that UND's AD is formerly the AD at EWU. *That's a way of saying nothing has leaked so far. **See my post on p199 of this thread saying this group would need one more BB-only school to make 9FB/12BB.
  14. I wouldn't say a new "dead fish wrapper" but if the news sources (local radio stations and weekly news papers) from Devils Lake to Bemidji and Roseau to Hillsboro banded together like the NewsDakota does for the Carrington, Jamestown, Valley City, Oakes part of the state I'd say they have something. http://www.newsdakota.com/
  15. Looking at it again it seems the 90 yard run by 33 was a “paint run”: if he’d have been covered in paint no Sac players would’ve needed to wipe their hands.
  16. Talk about a win where the coaches have yelling material for Monday. Yeesh. And this getting by despite special teams must change.
  17. When did Ft Wayne get a football team? UND just hit the kick to make it 7-0. Wait wait wait ... it is football, just not that football.
  18. Assistant GM: Brad Pascall (CGY)
  19. Chairman of Ownership Group: Mark Chipman (honorary, Mark didn't play hockey at UND, he played football at UND) TV post-game analysis: Jay Caufield (currently doing for PIT on Root Sports) Radio color analysis: Troy Murray (currently doing for CHI on WGN-AM) Coach: Dave Hakstol F: Oshie, Toews, N Schmaltz, Nelson, Johnson, Parise, Jost, Rowney, Zajac, Boeser, Caggiula, Stafford, Knight D: J Schmaltz, Forbort, Ladue, Stetcher G: Dell
  20. We really need Tucker Poolman to be called up. We're short on D.
  21. Chairman of Ownership Group: Mark Chipman (honorary, Mark didn't play hockey at UND, he played football at UND) Coach: Dave Hakstol F: Oshie, Toews, N Schmaltz, Nelson, Johnson, Parise, Jost, Rowney, Zajac, Boeser, Caggiula, Stafford, Knight D: J Schmaltz, Forbort, Ladue, Stetcher G: Dell
  22. Who butters YSU's bread? I'd guess the MVC teams moreso than the Summit.
  23. There's only one way Augie makes sense and that's in a 12 BB / 9 FB conference alignment. I say that because that's optimal for scheduling; you get 22 conference BB games and 8 conference FB games. But I believe Augie'd drive away Fort Wayne, WIU, ORU. So, in that Summit world I'd see the "I-29 Six": UND, NDSU, SDSU, Augie, USD, Omaha.I'd see Denver staying. RIght there is 7BB/4FB. So you'd need 5FB and 5BB. And preferably in a geographic cluster. How about ... Idaho, Montana, Montana State, EWU, and Weber State? DU would be part of the western cluster. There's 12BB/9FB. Done.
  24. MVFC teams' (10) primary conferences: Missouri Valley: 5 Summit: 4 Horizon: 1 There's your answer.
  25. As wonderful as the MVFC may be, the loss of the Summit BB autobid would be devastating. Summit League sponsored football is possible if the schools see the need and have the will. The Summit historically doesn't see "needs" until they are staring them in the face.
