HAKSTOL 9 MONTHS and change LEFT ON CONTRACT!
The Sicatoka replied to the"source"'s topic in Men's Hockey
C'mon, what'd it take to extend Appert at RPI? A fresh coat of paint in his office at Houston Fieldhouse, all the complimentary left-over after game popcorn he could eat, and one of those "50 cents off a new car at Rydell Chevy" coupons they drop from the blimps to the student at REA to be used the next time the Engineers come west? If that's what RPI gave him, they overbid. As some have made mention of, extending Hak will take some dollars of consequence right now. Making that fit into a transitional DI budget is no easy task. Folks concerned about this shouldn't be harping here, they should be filing out the pledge forms or checks. And you'd think someone at Alumni would be working hard to keep Hakstol and their grandkids, er, uh, (oops, I mean,) and Hak's family, in Grand Forks, wouldn't ya? Remember, Blais' last extention was an amalgamation of various gifts and enticements to stay. You'd think Alumni led that in some manner. Why not that approach again? -
They were juniors at S-SM last season and HS juniors can't sign a national letter of intent. Now, I forget the exacts on this so I need some help: Were they eligible to sign a letter during this summer (after junior year) or do they have to wait until their senior year has started and sign during the one-week period in November or after?

I thought Diggler was the poster child.

Don't question PCM's estimations of dimension. He was there when the units of measure were created.

Just a 9? That annoys me. If you're gonna do a job, do it the S&W Model 500 way.
-
"Swing left to turn right" (or vice versa) turns annoy me. Sorry, but a Honda Civic doesn't have the wheel-base of a Freightliner with a trailer so don't drive like one.

You should have seen the WDAY position and point of view coming. -
NDSU Football: Widening its Exposure Gap over UND

I thought it was going to be KXJB. That's the news report I heard Thursday night (on KVLY no less). Either way, I'll be able to watch Coach Lennon a half hour earlier (I have to watch him on WDAY, not WDAZ) because that annoying squinty guy with Telly Savalas' barber won't be there. -

You misinterpret: I expect Ingstad Broadcasting (using KKAG as flag) to go head to head vs. WDAY-AM (parent: ForumComm) for Bison broadcasts next time, whenever, that contract is out for bids. Seeing WDAY-TV step away (not pushed away) from Bison football is an interesting indicator. Should be fun. -
NDSU Football: Widening its Exposure Gap over UND

I was almost positive both signed two-year deals and each are through the first year. WDAY-TV not going for NDSU football, given their experience with it, what's that say? PS - Who wants to buy the articles from 2006 with the details? http://siouxsports.com/forums/index.php?s=...st&p=171168 PPS - UND signed a two-year extension in August 2006. http://siouxsports.com/forums/index.php?sh...mp;#entry179720 -
They were forced to watch Juan Rincon pitch later that evening.

Stations? (shrug) Coverage area. What I wonder is .... How does the WDAY-TV/ForumComm crew feel about being foresaken for KVLY (two games) and KXJB (coach show) television? They have a long history of being the mouthpiece and now they are set aside. Ingstad Broadcasting has WWAG-AM coming on-line soon (740 AM, Fargo). (He's the guy that bought Radio City, KFGO and the rest, back from Clear Channel.) He's a Bison fan and the speculation, even by folks like Mike McFeely, has been that they'll make a run for NDSU sports in the future. UND has a history with ForumComm (namely WDAZ-TV, the producer of FSSN). And the General Manager of WDAY-AM was the PA man for (and remains a big fan of) Sioux Hockey. Both the UND and NDSU media contracts are up after this season. Interesting. Interesting. Interesting. -
I had two people that matter to me cross that bridge at 5:45 pm.

The "global cooling" fanatics of the late 1960s and early 1970s. We were headed for an ice age then. (Some folks actually had plans on how to warm the Earth back up! Just ask PCM.) Roll forward 30 years .... The "global warming" fanatics of today.

Didn't they used to make hockey stick shafts out of that before composites? No, wait, that's titanium.

Am I the only one who got this?
-
No. It's because they've never read my signature.
-
Apparently not the NCAA (membership vote? what membership vote?), but just its Executive Committee. But they, per the NCAA Constitution, can't mandate policy.
-
Dear Gothmog: UND is only doing this because ND Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has had nothing else to do for the last year.
-
If they could have run this past a full association vote and got Myles and the Exec Comm's desired outcome, why didn't they? Shouldn't the Association be mad at them for not doing it the right way (and saving a court battle)?
