siouxperstar Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Neighbors who attended the Sioux-Per Gala last Sat., heard Drew's announcement (& saw a poster congratulating him) during an interview there that he's been invited to partake in the World Championships in Latvia May 5-21 as part of Team USA. Mike Eaves will be the coach--Eaves coached Drew on the Gold Medal team that won the 2004 World Jr.'s as you may recall---bring back the gold Drew!! Quote
Sioux-cia Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Could this be why he hasn't signed yet? Congrats Drew!! Taking the band for a little between game entertainment? FABIAAAAANNNNN!!!! Quote
Sioux-cia Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Guess this means the concert is off. Now you can save that band groupie money for a prime game worn jersey! Quote
Prpichrocks_19 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Guess this means the concert is off. Was the concert supposed to be at the end of the year? If not when? Quote
Siouxmama Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Congrats Drew. Good luck in the tournament. Go for the Gold! Quote
mikeypat15 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Hmm.............Drew is going to miss his finals, I don't take that as a good sign. Quote

Diggler Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I wouldn't take him missing finals as meaning anything as I would assume he plans on taking them before he leaves. Why else would he still be in school right now? He's not going to go to class all the way until finals week and then quit. If he was going to quit, he'd have already. Quote

I could see him taking finals early and ace-ing them. Quote
Goon Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I am pretty sure that he will be able to make up his incomplete if in fact he is coming back. Quote
farce poobah Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Coool!! Another USA sweatsuit for his collection. And another good pickup for team USA. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 It gets better. It's no longer "invited to try" but "named to roster"! http://www.fightingsioux.com/sports/mhocke...RELEASE_ID=4859 And get this! Of the first 15 named to the 23 man USA roster Drew is the only guy not on an NHL team! Quote
Redneksioux Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Does anyone know if any of these games will be televised? Or maybe someone has some knowledge on the best way to follow these games? Quote
sprig Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Does anyone know if any of these games will be televised? Or maybe someone has some knowledge on the best way to follow these games? Best place to find info is on http://www.usahockey.com. I believe you can access an audio stream of the US games there. Quote
UNDintheNHL Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 I had a small class with Drew last fall. As far as his classes are concerned, the guy is smart. He knows his stuff. There is no way he would not take them early. And he will still do them very well. Drew is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. I am glad that he hasnt gone to the NHL yet, as he would be a great cadidate for Captain next year. Congrats Drew, on your naming to the team. And hopefully you will be back next year. Thanks for the chance to meet and talk with such a standup guy. It will be nice to see ya on the ice in the future and say: "I had class with that guy, and have talked with him. He deserves to be out there as much as anyone else does" Quote
CVCL Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Drew with a goal today in Team USA's exhibition. http://www.usahockey.com/usa_hockey/news/m..._usasvk_050206/ Quote

siouxforeverbaby Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 since when is kessel playing? i thought drew was the only college player on the roster? That is what it said on the website. if you go to the post before mine and click on it. Quote
Sioux-cia Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I believe that an earlier post said Drew of the only one of the first 15 picked that wasn't on an NHL team> Kessel must have been picked later. Quote
Supertrex Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Kessel scored too? That just ruins my day! I guess the Slovokian's haven't seen his move... Quote
