Diggler Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 You couldn't pummel a poodle with a croquet mallet. I'd whoop you so fast your head will spin. Then to get your head to stop spinning I'd slam it with the penalty box door. Don't mess with me man or I'll go loco on you! Quote
Nathan Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 Well, if the "braintrust" back at POI headquarters ever figures out the POI-SCSU fiasco, maybe wecan get this off the ground. I'd be in, although I think I'm going to be spending most of my time wondering how many drinks ScottM is going to buy the groups after the game! Wait a minute, I think you guys should bring NiMiller down as your cheerleader. Quote

Nathan Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 Are we starting a pool on how many drinks Scott will buy us? BTW, Happy Belated Birthday! I'm glad the Sioux could pull it out on your special day. Quote
forecheck Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 So in other words, we better convince Scott to lace em up! I'm thirsty! Quote
ScottM Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 4 is the over/under? Probably not for rounds of booze, but probably for penalties I take. Quote
forecheck Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 He's in! Bring you drinking shoes kids! Quote
The Sicatoka Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 I'll shoot some photos and write the USCHO game recap. Too late Handy. There's already media there and I'm sure they'll have to limit the number of press passes to the event. Quote
Handyman Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Since when is the rink announcer part of the press? Quote
Handyman Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Well I have been told I have a face for radio Quote
forecheck Posted January 26, 2003 Posted January 26, 2003 Handy, what was the name of the rink people from USCHO rented during the Frozen Four last year? Are there actually going to be enough people to play? If people actually want to do this, maybe we should set a date, and then we can figure out who will be there. I can't be the only one who wants to watch this fiasco. Quote
Greyeagle Posted January 27, 2003 Posted January 27, 2003 We played the USCHO game at the Bloomington Ice Garden. Quote
forecheck Posted January 28, 2003 Posted January 28, 2003 Thanks Greyeagle. I stopped by for a couple minutes last year, but I forgot the name of the place. Is this idea losing interest? Quote
hrkac Posted January 28, 2003 Posted January 28, 2003 forecheck- i don't know about playing.......... i mean...... if i don't play up to their standards they might "RIP" me on P.o.i. like they do to their goofer players. Quote
forecheck Posted January 29, 2003 Posted January 29, 2003 LOL, well I have been told that the Sioux team WILL lose, because the POI people play together a lot and are fairly good. Sounded like a challenge to me. I don't have to worry about that, though, since I'm not playing. Quote
Nathan Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 Come on Nicole, lace em up! You know you want to be in the middle of a bunch of hot, sweaty guys! Quote
PCM Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 You know you want to be in the middle of a bunch of hot, sweaty guys! Sorry, Nathan, but it's well known around here that this is the only hot, sweaty hockey player forecheck truly cares about. Quote
Nathan Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 Sorry, Nathan, but it's well known around here that this is the only hot, sweaty hockey player forecheck truly cares about. Good lord! It's Oglethorpe "Ogletorpe?" Quote
PCM Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 I still think he's the illegitimate son of Spinal Tap bass player Derek Smalls. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 What is that? Why, according to some, that's a cupcake! Quote
forecheck Posted January 31, 2003 Posted January 31, 2003 Come on Nicole, lace em up! You know you want to be in the middle of a bunch of hot, sweaty guys! Oh Nathan, you know me so well. Do you plan on letting me use you as my brakes since I can't stop? But PCM is right, the Wookie holds the key to my heart. *sigh* Quote
forecheck Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 I checked at Bloomington Ice Gardens today, and to rent the ice it's $110/hour after 9:45pm, $95/hour before 3:00pm on a weekday, and otherwise it's $140/hour. That's not too bad if say, 10 people showed up from each team. It sounded like getting ice wouldn't be a problem either. Are there enough people still interested in doing this? I would think either some time on Wednesday the 19th or Sunday the 23rd, unless people wanted to play on the same day as a FF game. Quote
