What exactly were you implying with your comment?

You implied that you also talk to ndsu fans and they tell a different story than the one I’m saying. 
 

If that wasn’t your intent, the only other logical reason to make your comment would be to let everyone know that you have friends who are ndsu fans.

Yeah, I’ve really been touting my resume by saying I know a lot of NDSU fans and talk to them regularly. What a braggart I’ve been.

This is so reminiscent of 2004. UND fans making fun of the move NDSU is making only to come to the same logical conclusion about D2 a few years later.

I’m sure in 5-10 years when UND makes a move to FBS, you guys will continue to make the same comments.

Hard to convince you guys of something that is so obvious to me because I speak with lifelong NDSU fans on a regular basis and also people who became fans in the last 15 years. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

I live in Fargo and I agree with Bison06. I'm not a fan of NDSU and never have been, but I understand that the fans were bored. The only games that really fired up the fan base were SDSU and UND and whenever the Bison played an FBS opponent. The move was long overdue. The end goal is to be a relevant FBS program like Boise State. It remains to be seen if they accomplish that goal, but I wouldn't bet against them.

i don't know who your talking about but i would say a vast vast majority of usd, und, sdac, ndac fans WANTED d1......

but each school has/had "stuff going on"....and in time und/usd jumped too...on their own timeline.

yeah in five years whenthe MWC looks like

Not sure if you’re old enough to have been around in 2004, but that is absolutely not the sentiment that existed back then. Fans of UND and USD were adamant that NDSU and SDSU were making a massive mistake and would never be relevant at the next level up.

That's how I remember it I was one of those who thought it was a mistake for them. Given the cost to move from FCS to an FBS conference now versus the cost to go from D2 to FCS back then, I'm not sure about following NDSU today. It's almost apples and oranges.

I agree, it's very different now than back then with the level of investment. But, I think UND, USD, SDSU, UM and MSU are going to be paying very close attention to this move by NDSU. I predict that IF it goes well, they will find a way to make the move up.

nope....the only ones that didn't want to jump (all dak4 fans) were fans that knew that other than 1aa  footballl the trophy cases were permanently closed....and those people are still around i actually might be one of em.....

what the end result of sdac making the big dance?  maybe just maybe upsetting a team or two (like oral roberts did)....but 99% of the time it's a first round loss to temple in wichita....is that fun? i guess

would winning a d2 title be more funner?  maybe?

now that ndac moved to 1a...the trophy case is officialy closed for all sports (until they add women's hockey tho!!!)
