Somehow setting almost the entire bracket based purely on bracket integrity = "I think they might have dropped the ball"

:D

Maybe host instead of Brown doing it for you 🤣

might be a dumb q...but can a Canadian city host a regional

2 hours to winny instead of 4 or 5 to sf...bigger arena...bigger city...und alum owns it

lots of beer ya hoser

This may be one of the best ideas you have ever come up with.

It could be a great tool to market the college game to Canadian kids.

Best of all, it would p!$$ off the CHL! 😂

Bracket INTEGRITY

Unbelievable that the committee actually went strictly by the NPI. The only teams they had to swap were Wisconsin and Cornell so Cornell didn't play Dartmouth in the first round. Of course, I would have wished that Denver and Western weren't in the same bracket but for bracket integrity you need to have 4/5 in the same together.

OMG! We have to fly to regionals like 80% of the western teams.  You mean we can't be like BC and BU and always play in Worcester? Providence won their one and only championship in  2015.  They had the regional in Providence even though they were not the host team and then won it in Boston which is 50 miles from Providence. Whereas they think Sioux Falls is in our backyard or 320 miles away. What a whiner!

The NCAA did reward Merrimack for winning Hockey East.  By allowing them to be in the actual tourney.  Otherwise they wouldn't have made it.

The responses are good

He was tired of all the factual information and sounding logic by a UND fan :lol:

In all the time Leaman has been coach at Providence (~15 years), this is the first time his team has had to fly to a regional (all prior NCAA regional games during his tenure were in CT, NH, MA, or RI--basically a bus trip). That's an absurd amount of good fortune given that his team has generally not been better than a 3 seed in the NCAA's, so I can see where his whining is coming from. Still whining nonetheless

These spoiled eastern teams are finally getting to see how stupid this setup is.  I don't think WMU has been in a regional closer than 500 miles since i've been following the team, and we've been a #1 seed 3 times.

That's saying a lot since Western is in the finest hockey state in the union (yes Minnesota, that's right).

They have high school hockey, but i think we have them beat in pros and college.

Any particular reason why WMU doesn't host a regional in Grand Rapids again? Looks like the last time a regional was at Van Andel was in 2013 hosted by Michigan but WMU hosted there previously in 2009.

Tough to beat Michigan's 7 Division I college teams, not to mention all the semi-pro teams.

Plus the Wings are historically much better than the Wild. The Wings have the 3rd most Stanley Cup championships and the North Stars/Wild have none.

They should host in Detroit,  get the admin to actually support the effort.   Been in the tourney enough, have great fans,  reward them

a bitb

Can’t, only NHL arenas are for the Frozen Four
