It changed to the radio call of Western winning it, but will likely change back to praise of Denver next season. From the clip, absolutely loved when Carle says (paraphrasing) "some kids want to go to a school where they can attend a football game on a Saturday twice a year". Taking a hockey recruit to a football game as a pitch is why there will always be “Michigan kids” and “North Dakota” kids for example Good luck trying to sell your hockey program like that to a kid from small town Canada that lives and breathes hockey (and granted that pitch does work for Michigan just only for their style of player). Out of context though, showing a recruit that your sport is 3rd/4th fiddle on campus as a selling point is pretty funny. 2 Quote

yzerman19 Posted Friday at 02:58 PM Posted Friday at 02:58 PM Hmmmm...I think the obvious answer here is that there are different target markets. I do think UND and DU will continue to have a leg up on small town western Canada recruiting. Denver has a direct flight and more recent success. UND has the facilities and amenities. Denver is a huge city. Grand Forks is a medium sized town. Quote

And try selling UND to a kid that grew up in Toronto area when BU and Michigan are also recruiting him. That kid 100% is not coming to UND. Every program has draws and drawbacks. Quote

And will now continue to do so with the WHL being up for grabs! Quote
ubish Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I still have think titles before 1975 or so shouldn't matter. But that's because I'm in U of country and that's pretty much all they have. They do make a lot of frozen fours though, I'll give them that. Quote
