Verhoeff follows UND and only UND on instagram. Not sure if that is recent or not. Maybe this could be him?

Wondering if he comes as a 17 year old for this coming season before his draft.

Reschny and Verhoeff as a package deal for next season? Verhoeff for next year would be quite the surprise considering our D is pretty good as it is

He'd have to accelerate his education to graduate in 2025 instead of 2026, seems unlikely

Nice to have Patrick in Victoria, probably has told all the Royals some of his UND stories since that would be relevant following the rule changes to open up the CHL to the NCAA.

Having Patrick in Victoria is huge. Hopefully they are able to capitalize on Verhoeff and Reschny

Unless it has already happened. Kind of like how McKamey already accelerated. I haven’t heard anything about Verhoeff accelerating though. He’s pretty young. Turns 17 this summer.

Difference was McKamey was NCAA route from the start whereas Verhoeff was major junior from the start who only became NCAA eligible once the rule changes were passed in November. Sure, Verhoeff could have increased his course load during spring term or even this summer if he wanted to accelerate, I just don't see it as that likely.

It's one thing to say I don't think UND will land any high end CHL talent, it is another to say matter-of-factly it isn't happening.  Obviously I am glad the coaches aren't so defeatist.

Wonder what the recruiting would have looked like if the previous staff had stuck around. Having Chyzyk on this staff seems to be a massive boon for recruiting & the program as a whole

If this indeed comes to fruition, I really like the blend of our lineup next year with the veterans, the transfer players and the incoming recruits.  If Jackson can get the guys playing the brand of hockey he wants, it could be a lot better year than people expected.   Hopefully there are still some surprises to come.

He's doing an excellent job in engaging social media to get fans excited/hyped which is definitely getting with the times. All it takes is the bat signal. :lol:

More I think about this, I don’t think he comes early as a dman if he’s coming to UND. Jake Sanderson played 2 years of college. Even if he’s a top 5 pick, I don’t think he jumps to the NHL right away.
