It will be a high end player or a depth transfer, no in between. If it was anything else, it would have been announced a long time ago.

They are likely running out the clock with these unsigned top guys and if they are unsuccessful, which is likely, they have a transfer lined up.

Yep, that’s a bottom 6 grinder. Which is fine I suppose. If you can’t get a blue chip you might as well add a buzz saw

Slotting into the bottom 6, as a buzz saw/grinder and NHL draft pick-- sign me up.

Since the official team account is following Ollie Josephson, I am guessing he is at least committed. Looking at his history, he’s been the best forward for a bad Red Deer team. He just turned 19 about two weeks ago, which I believe would mean that he has two more years of CHL eligibility. Could he be for 26/27 or even 27/28?

He’s 19, but has played 3 full seasons in the WHL.  I definitely don’t think he’s playing 2 more years in juniors. 5 years of junior hockey is nuts.

A at 17, C at 18. Exactly the kind of kid we want. If it's this year, it gives Strinden one last chance to prove he's top 6 at this level.

I feel the same. I’m sure they’ll be soft as usual but might be the fastest team this year. Which Nathan Gerbe taunt me is a formula that can be pretty good unfortunately

Was Captain of his team too. Also was just at the World Junior summer showcase.

The guy is a fourth round draft pick.  Must have some skill more than just hustle.

His tenacity - combined with skills - sounds more like a top 6 guy (if not right away, by year 2).

You have to be careful though…playing in the Dub, much easier to get drafted. No knock to this kid, may be the next Carter Rowney, etc. But had this kid played in the USHL instead of the Dub, he may have went undrafted. It’s still a Canadian run business.

Judging it on it's national championship performance, I'd say it easily competes(if not beats) the former conference.  The WCHA from an entertainment and experience was the best there ever was, but did they ever win 7 of 9 titles? Best I can find is 6 of 9 in the early 2000s.

Good faceoff numbers and essentially the best pts/game guy on the team. Guessing he missed some games d/t injury. Seems like he'd be a good 4-year guy. I think he'd be a great bottom 6 player because he fits the kind of mentality Jax is looking for. Regardless of who we bring in, there are going to be some good players sitting out every night.

He missed a bit of December and January with an injury.  I looked at some of his highlights and the first 2 goals I saw were short handed so I am guessing we could see him on the PK.

Seems to be a solid bottom 6 / middle 6 player that can play in a lot of situations and take face offs when needed. Overall a solid addition. Looking ahead a lot of the guys they’ll likely be bringing in are more of the offensive type so this type of player can help balance out the bottom / middle 6 in future years. 
 

also the students have a great chance to copy euro soccer and chant “Ollieeee, Ollie, Ollie, Ollie” if he scores a nice shorty, etc
