The Dub's production of NHLers leaves you wanting more, but it has gotten better and better as a league lately 1 Quote
yzerman19 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 yeah, if you think about the area they cover and the population, I mean Toronto is the hotbed for hockey in the world...although the GTHL can be a bit of a dumpster fire 1 Quote
cberkas Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Mason West down to Michigan State and BC He'll go to Fargo once football season ends Quote

He could have committed last August, but IIRC, he wanted to be patient about determining his future. A move back to the Dub before NCAA isn't out of the question, he is Canadian so there's that cultural allure. He only gets to play for the NTDP because he uses the birthplace + mom is American loophole. He played all of his minor hockey in Canada and grew up there entirely. Quote

I’d say he’s either going back to NDTP or going to the dub next year. He’s a high ender. He’ll be playing college hockey as a true freshman. 1 Quote
scpa0305 Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I think we’re going to have to wait until after the draft…unless one of the two open spots is a pure depth player. Quote
beastandco Posted Friday at 06:24 PM Posted Friday at 06:24 PM I think we see a wave of commitments next week from the players at the combine. Players and agents will have a good understanding of where teams stand on their future plans. It is probably a main topic that they talk about in interviews at the combine. Unless a player is pushing for a roster spot in the NHL next year, I do not see an advantage for them to wait until after the draft. I also do not see teams waiting on prospects until the middle of July. Players return to campus after the 4th and I’m assuming they would want their roster filled by then. It’s risky for both the players and college programs because spots are filling up at top programs. 2 Quote
nascar99 Posted Friday at 06:44 PM Posted Friday at 06:44 PM Finn McLaughlin (2006, D, dual citizen, USHL) flips from Denver to Minnesota. His career hadn't taken off in junior as many expected, interesting to see him flip for whatever reason. Quote

farce poobah Posted Friday at 07:57 PM Posted Friday at 07:57 PM If I was a CHL GM, I'd be recruiting the USA for players who previously would have committed to USHL or or Tier 2 leagues (hey they had plenty of notice this was coming). Any news on that front? Quote

Any news on that front? We've seen several signings of guys that were previously likely USHL...Spehar, Kraft to name 2. They are definitely all-in on the 2010 class they just drafted- pretty much every Minnesota kid on that draft board was planning on NTDP or USHL before the rule change. 2 Quote
cberkas Posted Saturday at 04:48 AM Posted Saturday at 04:48 AM In the QMJHL draft Carter Meyer was taken 17th overall. Will be interesting if he goes to the Q and leaves the NTDP U17 team. I think the NTDP is going to be affected the most with the CHL players allowed in the NCAA. Quote
scpa0305 Posted Saturday at 09:21 PM Posted Saturday at 09:21 PM Sounds like C Bear is staying with Everett 1 Quote
atxsioux Posted Saturday at 10:26 PM Posted Saturday at 10:26 PM Him and dupont would be a nice package for 2026. Only thing is if he dominates the dub next year he would likely only be a one year player at UND. Quote

brianvf Posted Sunday at 12:14 AM Posted Sunday at 12:14 AM Latest rumors are McKenna to PSU. It's like a different team "rumored" every week. Haha. I still can't picture him going to PSU, where the offensive scheme seems to be to just throw the puck on net from anywhere on the ice. Quote

That, and you would think he would be looking to round out his two-way game. Don’t think of PSU as a team that is known for that. Quote
atxsioux Posted Sunday at 04:24 AM Posted Sunday at 04:24 AM At this point call me paranoid but I’m almost convinced Penn state may have some person in hockey media in their pocket. I don’t see how they are at all in the mix for McKenna over MSU, Michigan, BC, BU, or even UND. You have to build up for a generational recruit of his stature. You don’t land him out of the blue IMO. The Jackson smith news almost proves it. He was rumored to be committed last week and it appears that is pretty far from being a done deal at this point Quote
