Wilbur Posted Tuesday at 04:08 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:08 PM Figured I'd turn the page on last season and move forward to a new year with school getting going this week. On the North Dakota boy's side you've got a long list of early departures yet again, and some new coaches in West Fargo and Dickinson (haven't heard who will be the head man in Williston yet). I'll give the nod to Central to win the championship in the boys. I'd assume North/South in the girls division, but it was nice to see a different winner last year. 4 Quote
ChadR Posted Tuesday at 04:29 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:29 PM I'd like to hear the early departures list. Quote
Brim006 Posted Tuesday at 04:40 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:40 PM I haven't heard of too many early departures yet this year. In fact, I can honestly only think of one that I know of for sure and I'm not quite sure where he went. Bradyn Strom from Legacy. I'm curious to hear the others as well. Someone on here at one point mentioned all of the returning starters from Century were leaving early supposedly. And obviously Mattern I guess but that goes unsaid. Quote

McKay-Presley (had a nice FR season) deciding to focus on other sports. CHS: Eckart is in Bobcats camp and a good chance to make the squad. Minot: Keller the goalie and a few other kids bounced. Not sure specifically who and where on that. Bott: pretty sure they lost their goalie as well. Williston hired Brad Federenko (not sure on spelling). Quote
Wilbur Posted Tuesday at 05:31 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 05:31 PM This is what I've heard, can't confirm it all, rumor mill material here. Sheyenne: Raan WFHS: Peterson, Mattern. Red River: Jackson I heard Keller from Minot, but haven't heard other names. Davies: Spiewak Legacy-Strom 1 Quote
ChadR Posted Tuesday at 05:52 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:52 PM Mattern playing for Force? Where is Jackson going? Quote
Brim006 Posted Tuesday at 06:07 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:07 PM Looking like another easy 1-2 in the EDC for RR and Central? Out west I really have no idea at this point until we hear more on who has officially left or stayed. Quote

With or without I see GFC lifting #.....a lot. Quote

Frozen4sioux Posted Tuesday at 11:37 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:37 PM Grafton's Larson gone to Northstar I saw they posted Century lost their best returning players, Best forward, Jackson Fylling to Sioux Falls, Best defenseman Eckart won't be back, IMHO. Another Sr D man was likely other sport bound, but they do get back Schlafman from a year of JV purgatory for the unholy sin of playing a year in AAA. Lots of bantam kids left for AAA programs again Legacy lost a Bantam kid for the Clevland AAA program, Hazen lost their up and comer as well I saw. So many others, west and east, it's almost impossible to keep up, but still some in flux, rosters will start popping up of those programs soon. Jr training camps are on, or will start next week as well. Quote
Frozen4sioux Posted Tuesday at 11:37 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:37 PM Minot's dual school depth will walk away as the WDA champs. The other 3 State runtime qualifiers will just be whichever team has hot goalies (or even just a quasi-capable goalie) at tourney time... Mandan, Jamestown, Century.... who knows. But its GFC - RR for the title and basically pointless to consider another possibility. Quote
Johnny Five Posted Wednesday at 11:56 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:56 AM Minot: Pachaluk, Deschamp and Erhardt leaving on defense. Keller at Goalie. Routlik at Forward. Not to mention 10 graduating seniors. Along with Berk Thuner who was one of their top Bantams. They will be overhauling their roster. Quote

Frozen4sioux Posted Wednesday at 12:48 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:48 PM The only real potential ? out east is the new Holy 4 team at Shanley? Were they able to recruit or get anyone to enroll in any of those programs to make a difference? And then ow will the combined North-South team look? Quote

I haven't heard them pulling in anyone from around the state like French used to do. I'm interested to see how Olsonawski and crew do this year, although most of the team was Shanley kids anyways. I think its like you said. Central and Red River, and its the goal of every other team to make the all GF final not happen. Looks like kids left Minot even without that second team. Quote

Brim006 Posted Thursday at 12:05 AM Posted Thursday at 12:05 AM I’m surprised Larson left when he had 2 good forwards to skate with another year, and would’ve had ample ice time, PP and PM to boot. Playing in the EDC with that much ice time seems hard to beat especially with a few good players to skate with. Oh well, what do I know lol. Quote

The team GPR could've had with him and Suda in the net. 2 Quote
