I think all of us let out a collective groan when Boisvert jumped in the transfer portal.  Who would have thought he'd be where he is(3 goals on a mediocre BU team) and we'd be where we are right now(National Championship Contender).  It's been a transformational change at UND and, as someone else said, I don't think we have the same culture or locker room with him still here.  I'm beginning to think he may have been a bit of a diva that the previous regime catered to(perhaps explains his loyalty?) and Pandolfo may not be as understanding.  However this is all speculation so I could be completely wrong as well :)

I cannot imagine Pandolfo was thrilled when his best forward got suspended for something completely preventable when his team is trying to climb the NPI.

You’re referring to Boisvert as their best forward?  Real question; don’t know much about BU this year.

I do not watch a ton of BU, I heard someone in the media say he was their best forward. I think it was Schloss in a podcast. He is their most productive forward on a per game basis, at least.

It's 50/50 between Eiserman and Boisvert. They've also been equally underwhelming relative to expectations.

Hutson is really putting the team on his back every night

Is the Walter Brown award an East Coast only award?  Hard to believe that the NCHC and B1G don't have a semifinalist for the "best American-born Division I college hockey player."

Quote

Fifteen teams are represented in the slate of candidates that includes 19 forwards, four defensemen, and two goalies. A total of 18 semifinalist nominees are from teams in Hockey East; five nominees from ECAC Hockey; and two from Atlantic Hockey.

East Coast only, yes. I'm actually surprised that some Minnesotans haven't come up with an award for the best Minnesotan NCAA D1 player

Also demonstrated by multiple players trying to drive the net without a clear lane. Seriously...

The hero puck mentality....kind of reminded me of the WJ OT loss to Finland, where US players (Hutson I remember once obviously) were trying to make 1:1 plays and taking low percentage shots trying to be the hero, instead of maintaining possession and setting up a quality shot.  Nice coaching and prep work Bob.

It’s for the best American born player in New England

Thank you for the clarification ... would have been ice if the article had stated that.

Mostly the winners are from Massachusetts. 2 winners from Minnesota with Tim Sheehy born in Canada but played high school in Minnesota.

Basically, to be up for the award you have to play college hockey in New England no matter where you are from.

Just a weird tribalistic award IMHO

There's no clear favorite this year IMHO. I guess you could say Michigan State if they all play up to their capable ceiling, but I'll believe it when I see it in the tournament. Really interested to see who gets hot at the right time, who gets the bounces, etc.
