They’re 8-15. They have Wisconsin, Michigan, and Michigan State left for 3 of their last 5 series. All those will likely be sweeps. Don’t see how they can bring Bob back.

I'm enjoying the Gopher's losses as much as the next person.   

Re recruiting:

UND and Denver, among other NCAA teams, have been recruiting Canadian players for 75 years.  Even if Minnesota wants to, would any of the top  talent agree to play Minnesota?

Would think they will try to improve NIL to try lure some.  The Big Ten itself will help a bit, but yeah they are behind other teams for Canadian talent.

North Dakota, Denver, & Michigan have always been the best at recruiting (higher end) Canadians. That won't change.

While Minnesota may not be able to out-recruit the aforementioned (as well as Michigan State, Boston University, Penn State, Wisconsin, and others) for high end Canadians very often, they certainly could have gone after & gotten solid contributors from the CHL such as Kocha Delic, Teydon Trembecky, Oliver Tulk, Markus Vidicek, Antonin Verreault, Jake Karabela, Jacob Mathieu, Anthony Romani, Clarke Caswell, Justin Kipkie, Colton Roberts, Kalem Parker, Reid Andresen, Nathan Piling, Miguel Marques, Calem Mangone, Luke Woodworth, Josh Fleming, Daniel Hauser, Dawson Cowan, and many more. Those guys aren't going to cost much if anything at all in NIL.

All Minnesota has to do is actually recruit everywhere (especially Canada) instead of their 90% convenience bias/insular tribalism recruiting strategy

Minnesota is so far gone right now. As bad as this year is, they could lose Ziemer and will lose Lamb and Mittlestadt. They also have a mediocre freshman class coming in. As a team that doesn’t really take transfers or CHL players, I don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. 
 

Fitzhenry and Schneider still being uncommitted is very telling as well. If they don’t land at least one of them they’ll be in serious trouble.

I listened to the GPL podcast last week and there are serious concerns about their ability to pay players. Gopher hockey is an afterthought for revenue sharing and their collective is virtually nonexistent.

If coaching was good you can turn around things fast, but that assumes holding on to the talent you do have, players making steps from their current games, and actually showing a little character and passion.  Don’t know if accelerating certain talented recruits will help in the short term, as experience means something, especially on the back end.

A few NCHC teams might be on the bubble come tourney selection time.

Since that money goes to the school initially, it would be part of their revenue sharing. Since revenue sharing is capped at $20.5, there isn’t much revenue sharing money left over for hockey programs once football and basketball have gotten their share.
