We have had that conversation about ushl since the beginning. But this is all new for the CHL players. A lot of them think they are a little better than they are. College puck is no joke. Yes, but it also shows that if you are an elite player, then playing in college is going to be better for your development if you are looking to make a step to the next level. So, it probably is a cautionary tale in that playing against mature players is a whole lot different than putting up circus numbers in the CHL, and that for most looking to make the jump, there might be a learning curve just like most freshmen entering college. The reason that some players are pushed by NHL teams is because they are truly elite and ready for that next step of development. Other than that, many should just stay in the CHL to develop until they are ready for the jump as you rightly pointed out, just like staying another year in the USHL would have been better for Cole Spicer. Exactly. The two referenced players definitely should have played another year in the CHL. It’s a case by case basis really, especially guys going to these big blue blood programs. 1 Quote

Granted Guy Gadowski has reasons to be rolling his top 2 lines but I do think its a benefit to be a team thats typically trying to roll 4 lines like we appear to be so far this year. Pretty sure neither of those players are suited to play penalty kill based on those minute totals too so not the smartest roster building from Gadowsky and Co. Quote
brianvf Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago First one...probably won't be the last from players not getting significant minutes or putting up loads of points like they do in the CHL: Quote
