UND should take notes from SCSU on PP...the Huskies once again have a dominant PP.
All four of their goals were scored on the PP in a 4-0 win over Vermont.

Would love to see St. Cloud’s power play stats over the years from home ice compared to on the road.  Quite a change for every team visiting trying to get the right gapping with such a big ice surface.  Would imagine that would manifest as a big advantage for St. Cloud when the opponents can’t be aggressive in the corners.

I currently don't think Penn State is great, but they have plenty enough talent to where if McKenna starts driving play & scoring at 5v5 and Jackson Smith is just a good consistent top 4 D, they'll be plenty dangerous.

Wouldn’t be surprised around WJC if someone talks him to going back to the WHL

Ever since the Covid year 2020-21 no one in the ECAC has been close to Quinnipiac. Only 4 teams in the ECAC played the 2020-21 season and they took a huge advantage over Harvard and Cornell not playing that season. Maybe the CHLers help other teams catch up but I don’t think anyone will knock Quinnipiac down from the top for awhile.

But Schloss didn't tell us the most important stat of all: What were the xG numbers for those games? :p:whistling:

CHLers like Verreault and Vidicek are only making Quinnipiac stronger

Some big NC series this weekend for other NCHC teams.

UMD vs UMN
DU vs BC
WMU vs UM

That Western vs Mich series starts tonight and I'm really interested to see how UM responds to their first real big test of the year.
Putting up 10+ goals against Mercyhurst and RMU sure helps inflate the stats, but doesn't prepare them for the speed/skill that they'll see against Western.

You don’t think that would be a red flag for potential draft status?

If we swept Providence out east our fanbase would be expecting us to not lose again. Providence did beat Quinnipiac in exhibition and we’ll see how they do against common opponent St. Thomas this weekend.

That would be my thinking, he’s not noticeable and not lighting it up against the cupcakes. Verhoeff looks like he was ready to play at UND very noticeable and doesn’t just sit at the blue line. One play Verhoeff was behind the net (Minnesota or St Thomas) and got back to help on the rush before the UND blue line.

Happy to see that the Big Ten Network is covering tonight's WMU vs UMi game too.

Purists on here were saying we should never join the Big Ten because of games like that, and attendance at some Big Ten venues will suffer on a Thursday night, but that will get the most eyeballs of any college hockey game this week. Good for Western, hopefully the announcers are allowed to discuss how successful the NCHC is...

Before the year I didn't think it would be a conversation between McKenna and Verhoeff going number 1

Unless things drastically change it'll definitely be a discussion once this summer hits IMO
