atxsioux Posted Monday at 01:25 PM Posted Monday at 01:25 PM Carle’s comments are similar to UNDs. They don’t intend on trying to outbid teams but they definitely want to compensate players. The article also mentions finding “creative” ways to generate revenue when it comes to NIL / hockey team revenue. Turning 1 day of summer “pro” camp into an all star game with tickets sold would be neat to see. Opening a charitable table game casino right next to the Ralph for convenient pre and post game use to fundraise would be interesting to see as well 2 Quote

They'll get their elite guys like Zeev Buium from time to time, but absolutely feast getting guys like Trevor Moore, Carter Mazur, Jack Devine, etc. They'll compensate those types after their freshman year once they've proven their worth at the NCAA level Quote

No one would have thought anything of Owen Michaels before 2024-25, then he turned into their 2nd best forward. Replacing Bump's production will be a challenge, but guys keep stepping up for the Broncos. This is the first year since Pat has been here that we didn't' lose 80 percent of our scoring. The loss of Bump and Washe will be felt, but we return the next 7 scorers (all 20+ point guys) our goalie and almost the entire defense, plus we added some talent in the portal. I'm not saying we'll win the league because we're not at the point where I could confidently say that but this is the absolute best position the team has been in since Pat has been HC. 2 Quote

Couldn’t stay off Mill Ave 🤣 Mill Ave sucks anyway and Powers told the team when a couple got in trouble to stay off Mill. All jokes aside, depending on his degree he might of not liked the commute to Tempe from the other campus’. West I feel is a bigger headache to get to than downtown or polytechnic. The charter buses do help get people around. Quote

Whoops Mercyhurst College would be the weakest financial condition (Endowment $31 mm), and a smallish student body (2700 undergrads). Then perhaps Niagara and Sacred Heart. My $.02 Quote
KSSioux Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I thought this was an interesting article on college hockey to pros pathway on NHL.com. Listed a lot of the CHL to NCAA kids including Reschny and Verhoeff. I do not think anyone knows how this will actually shake out, but I hope we get a few more colleges adding D1 hockey. Lots of talent out there. NCAA hockey could be major pathway to NHL after rule change | NHL.com 2 Quote

NCAA hockey could be major pathway to NHL after rule change | NHL.com Cale Makar and Quinn Hughes (& others) proved that the NCAA route prepares one better for pro than going from the CHL straight to pro. Now that you can do both, most guys should go CHL to NCAA to pro. Quote

nascar99 Posted 9 minutes ago Posted 9 minutes ago 16 minutes ago, siouxfaninseattle said: Where would that leave USHL? It's a solid league that is very tough to score in because it leans very defensive & is older, but it's not friendly to 16 and 17 year olds (in part because the NTDP takes most of the best u17 & u18 talent) who need to show they can play and produce in junior in order to get drafted. While the CHL is too offensive at times, most of their teams give immense opportunities to talented u17 and u18 players. The USHL doesn't have any real prestige as a junior league other than you sorta had to play there if you wanted to go NCAA. Now you don't. Quote
