I'm hearing he heads to Watertown with Sproule, or Ontario Junior Hockey League. I was told he will be with the Force next season. No clue if true or not Quote

He could've been the guy for Sheyenne this year. Horace kid though, so if they have a team in 2 years he's a flight risk unless he "open enrolls" elsewhere. Quote

A WF parent told me that Friday night Quote

But Major Junior was the most commonly spouted prognosis. Conclusion: Not a clue gotta see I guess, he could land almost anywhere next weekend, including WF. Quote

I've never heard that before to be honest. In fact I was told ademently to NOT use that logo on a non BAA media piece. Quote
yzerman19 Posted Monday at 01:24 PM Posted Monday at 01:24 PM I did a little homework, it looks like the only league where Mattern is protected is the NAHL, so that makes him a free agent across the rest of junior hockey. That also means tougher to get that roster spot, but it does give you freedom. Good luck to him and all the kids. Quote

And honorable mention to the young lady in the net for WF United, who was the reason her team beat GF, and was in the ship to begin with. Otto very deserving of tournament MVP. 1 1 Quote

Heard he has family there, so an easy transition to finish out the year, but from what I've heard he may have other options. Quote

yzerman19 Posted Monday at 10:44 PM Posted Monday at 10:44 PM okay, State is over. So, with the kids, who is going to USA camp, who is going to Nationals, and who is going to junior camp? My perspective as an outsider is that Team ND will get destroyed at Nationals as they have historically. Quote

My perspective as an outsider is that Team ND will get destroyed at Nationals as they have historically. Team ND is always over matched. I was at the 15O tournament at Scheels and you've got teams like Chicago Mission, Little Caesars, Bishop Kearney, Shattuck. Extremely skilled teams who have been practicing and playing together each day since September, going against kids who have had a couple weekends to prep for the Sioux Falls Power for the best of three series that Sioux Falls shouldn't lose. Team ND played eventual national champion Chicago Mission in pool play and got beat 8-1. Shots weren't terrible, but I think the biggest issue was the speed of the game. That and AJ Garcia, Victor Plante, and Jack Hextall just to name a few. 1 Quote

They have playoffs against Sioux Falls Power next weekend in Sioux Falls. Rotates each year between Sioux Falls, and wherever ND picks, normally Fargo. 14U, 15O, and 16U teams play against the Power in a best of three series. Last year only team to get to nationals was 15O. Names you may recognize would be Quamme (GFC), Ulmer (RR), Jackson(RR), Larson (GPR), Suda (Formerly GPR). Eckart (Century), Clausen (GFC), Panzer (GFC). 2 Quote
