01grad
It is great that the tourney is on St. Patricks day. Hopefully there will be lots of green out there, perhaps even on gopher fans. I wonder who everybody will cheer for if we play Wisconsin? Who does Minnesota hate more? I am a very die hard Sioux fan, but since I grew up a gopher fan I don't hate them as much as others that post here do. I will be cheering for them as long as they aren't playing us, just to warn everybody ahead of time. Many people were angry at me for this last year and couldn't figure it out. I don't care though because UMD and the U of M are the only other teams I pull for if the Sioux aren't playing. Well on with the topic of this thread. We will be in section 117 row 10 again this year (behind the benches). We always hang out at McGoverns between games. It is always packed, as everyplace is, but it is a fun crowd. 01grad
I forgot, do any of you ever gather anywhere in between periods, other than outside for smokers, to discuss the game?

#1Hakfan
I only caught half the announcement, but I am sure it is where the alumni gathering is. Maybe if someone finds out they should start a special thread. But they said it start thursday at 4 or 4:30.
01grad
I am sure that alot of people will be at Great Waters to use their coupon for the free pint of beer. The alumni thing usually as been held here, but I couldn't remember when it was. I thought one year it was between the Saturday games. Smoggy
Is this where the alumni gathering is? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is the alumni gathering and it's like $15. It gives you food, but not $15 worth. It'll have a cash bar.
petey23
I'll be in a suite! $30 a six pack!!! McGoverns is always good, but I have become partial to Alarys the last couple years. They shuttle you to and from the games and validate your parking. oh, and if that isn't enough reason www.alarys.com
jerseychaser1
I'm going to be sitting in 229 in the very first row wearing all my saint patricks day stuff.
siouxnami
Thursday at Great Waters, eh? Who wants a keychain? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I do, I do... BTW, I think I may have been there a previous year, but where is Great Waters relative to the X. Edit: Hey Wrong Side of the Blue Line, do you still have the signs that spell out MEDIOCRE, in the unlikely event we should here the U of M rouser? Let'sGoHawks!
It would be cool if all the Sioux fans left the bar together and walked down to the X as a large group of green and white.

radionews
I will be traveling from NW MN for the Final Five and will be sporting green hair THursday , not for St. Patty's Day but for the Sioux!!!! Last year we (30 some year old mind you) sat with green hair during the sioux games next to a U of M student with a maroon wig and maroon and gold face paint. Good times! Good natured ribbing and a nice pic with "Ronald McDonald" as we called him. Good times, good Sioux hockey and beer......can't wait!! Goon
The Sioux are my favorite D-2 football team and the Gophers are my favorite D-1 football team. As much as I like their football team, I can't help but like their hockey team too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I like the Gopher Football, Baseball and Basket programs. I detest the Gopher hockey team.
