petey23 Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Roger Thomas announced at Sioux Boosters in Fargo today, that Dave Hakstol's father passed away. I hope everyone can remember Dave and his family in their prayers. It makes you remeber what is really important in life. Quote

dagies Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 That's sad news. My condolences as well. Quote
jk Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Considering that Hakstol was arriving at UND around the time I was leaving, he seems far too young to be losing a parent. My condolences to him and his family. Quote
PCM Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 At times like these, it's good to step back and gain some perspective. Hockey is just a game. There are things more important in life than won-lost records. Dave and his family and have my deepest sympathy. Quote
Old Barn Guy Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 My family's deepest sympathy to Dave and his family on the loss of his father. Quote
MafiaMan Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Considering that Hak is my age, I concur that that's far too young to be losing a parent. It's been a tough past 12-15 months or so for the Sioux community, particularly with Dean Blais' family and now Coach Hakstol. I know I'm not the only one saying this, but my thoughts and prayers go out to Dave and his family. Quote
kfah1 Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Thoughts and prayers are with Coach Hakstol and his family. PCM is right... in perspective hockey is ultimately only a game. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 The Hakstol family has my deepest sympathy as well. Quote

NorthDakotaHockey Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 If it is true, as some have often said, that the true measure of a man's life is the quality of those that he leaves behind, then judging by Coach Dave, his daddy was a fine, fine and good man of solid stock and sound judgment. Our condolences to the Hakstol family. We are sure that there is a rousing game of hockey going on right now somewhere in Heaven, and that old man Hakstol is right in the middle of it. Skate in Peace. Quote
