cberkas Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Sometimes lawmakers should just stay out of things and go back to their wasteful committees since they never want to do anything useful. Quote

cberkas Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Quote In addition to UMD, Denver has disclosed it intends to opt in. According to sources, all of the MAC — including Western and Miami — is expected to opt in, as well as St. Cloud State and most, if not all, the other multidivisional schools. North Dakota is the only school to announce it intends to opt out for the first year. It’s unknown what St. Thomas and Omaha will do, as the Summit League is letting each school decide on its own. Gave some really good insight. Key takeaways I recall were he felt the main reason UND was going to opt out, is because the settlement wouldn't be completed by April 1st, Chaves wouldn't know what they are opting into. He also thought that UND would almost assuredly opt in year 2. Also mentioned that Chaves felt eventually all schools would have to opt in. Want to pair that with an article @cberkas shared in another topic about MW / PAC and setting the bar at 10 million over 3 years. I didn't realize that Alston counts towards that #, I'm guessing FCOA does as well. What # would UND be at currently? Does anyone else get the feeling that UND might end up opting in? I'm struggling to really see a downside. Roster cuts of course will be tough / messy, but being able to increase scholarships seems like in the long run a better outcome. Rosters would be overall easier to manage knowing you have a cap. Quote

Notre Dame had it trademarked before UND. The agreement allowed only 10% or sales to athletics with a cap of $100,000. All other funds go to the University to be used on anything but athletics. 1 Quote
