Al Pearson, UND’s original superfan died yesterday.  Rest In Peace, Al.

The night they honored him at the Ralph, he had just gotten released from the hospital and was there five hours later. That's dedication in my book.

That's one thing that I never did. and I have regrets. I heard the bus trip were epic. A lot of fun.

RIP, Al. I’ll always remember the time I first knew who he was. I was attending a game in Omaha and he led the fight song at a pregame party.  Saw him one time leading a group out of the Omaha stadium with his Walker and they were all singing a UND tune.

The beverages, munchies & gambling games were excessive fun with Sioux logos everywhere and on everything. He was so freaking lucky, took $$$ from us each trip

Al’s eyes lit up every time he met a new friend - no strangers on the bus.  May the spirit of camaraderie and friendship that Al brought to the bus trips be an inspiration to us all.

I went by myself on the 2005 bus to Columbus.  The hours of planning that went into a single road trip must have been in the hundreds.  Al treated everyone like family.  Still probably a top 10 highlight of my life, despite the loss to Denver in the title game.  

Also had the good fortune of being on-hand for the Al Pearson tribute night.  Unbelievable that he even made it to the game.  His hat sitting outside that section permanently will be an awesome tribute to a mountain of a man and like someone else put it, North Dakota hockey’s original “super fan.”

It’s been a long road for Al with his Parkinson’s Disease battle.  God’s got him in good hands up in Heaven, just in time for Easter.  

Godspeed, Al, you were the best of the best in Grand Forks.  We’ll miss you.

Al was just an absolute gem when I interacted with him and he was a true gentleman when I introduced my kids to him.

Just an absolute legend.

Any idea when a funeral for this man will be?

It's incredible how much of an impact Al had on the people who knew him. The guy was an icon in UND sports, it will be weird not seeing him at UND sports anymore. Rest Easy Al.

  Goons statement about Al could not be more accurate. He was the best ambassador UND hockey every had. He will be missed. Goon if you are at Al's service I would enjoy meeting and speaking with you.
