brianvf
A couple of must win games this weekend if UND wants any shot at continuing to move up the PWR. Quote It's that time of year again where Midco play-by-play announcer Alex Heinert will begin calling CBS Sports Network nationally televised games. This weekend, he'll be doing St. Cloud State-Minnesota on Saturday. Because of that, Jody Norstedt will be handling play-by-play duties for Midco on the UND-Lindenwood series. Norstedt called one game last season when Heinert was absent. Norstedt previously worked in Grand Forks at WDAZ-TV, so he's quite familiar with UND hockey and the NCHC. The Sicatoka
Norstedt did the HS games on Midco during the Christmas break (WF Tourney at The Lights). He's warmed up. But, ... pssst ..., Jody ... < glances around > ... unlike Wilson or Dunn who worked with you at The Lights, Jake's going to try to run all over you. Be ready. InHeavenThereIsNoBeer
UND within shouting distance of the national tournament at #17 in the Pairwise, must have got some help over the break because after WMU they were #22. This is probably the most important weekend of the 2nd half with Lindenwood 55th in PWR(Miami a close 2nd at 43rd). Sweep or bust

brianvf
https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/usa-hockey-ironing-out-jackson-blakes-trip-home-und-freshman-is-questionable-for-friday Quote UND freshman forward Jackson Blake will play in the bronze-medal game at the World Junior Championship at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Then, the race home begins. Whether Blake will play in UND's series opener against Lindenwood at 7:07 p.m. Friday in Ralph Engelstad Arena is still up in the air. As of Wednesday afternoon, Blake's travel arrangements back to Grand Forks were still in the process of being booked. Article also says that Berry will be back behind the bench this weekend too. AJS
To move up in the PWR and standings, this team will have to sweep a handful of series this second half. That being said, this is the only true must sweep. Anything less and you can throw the PWR out and concentrate completely on the NCHC standings and winning the auto bid. Here's another good one from Zombo at the beginning of the season. Tells the story of the water bottle incident at Wisconsin at 53:25. Pretty fun listen. https://ithswpodcasts.podbean.com/e/analytics and-eyeballs- se 1 ep-32- september-26-2022/ Another Zombo interview from a couple days ago about this weekend's series. https://ithswpodcasts.podbean.com/e/college-hockey-west-weekly- se-2-ep-27- january-3-2023/

They are where they are because of the games they've won, lost and tied. There's no handouts being given.
