IMO he's got a little bit of Trupp in him Jake's skill level is just sick....as the kids would say. I certainly didn’t see any of our freshmen to be instant impact guys, and maybe just role players for a year or so before they contribute consistently. I know it’s early, but Schmaltz looks like he can be a fairly consistent contributor. You just never know, you always get some guy that surprises you. Years ago everyone was looking at Wes Dorey as Canadian Junior Player of the Year to come in and make a huge impact and Jeff Panzer comes in under the radar and makes a huge impact. Here’s to hoping Schmaltz can continue making an impact and that after an adjustment period the other freshmen come along for the ride, and somewhere down the road we can hear Barry Melrose with the refrain, “You’re killing me Schmaltz”! LuvHockey Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 Slow motion on the slow motion replay: it appears that Sanderson was toe-dragging around the goalie stick, then the D man tried to poke check Sanderson, and struck the goalie stick as goalie was moving to follow Sanderson across the crease. Jake never touched goalie stick- but just after stick went flying away- lifted puck over the pads and in. Sweet play. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 So what was the final story on the Niagara goalie glove? Rule 14? If adjustments are required, the player shall retire from the ice; play shall continue without interruption with a substitute. Unnecessary delay shall not be permitted for the repair or adjustment of a goalkeeper’s equipment. If major adjustments are required, the goalkeeper shall retire from the ice and be replaced by the substitute goalkeeper immediately. A referee may allow for minor delays. PENALTY—Minor. Rule 69? Quote 69.1 Equipment - Play shall not be stopped nor the game delayed for adjustments to clothing, equipment, skates or sticks (see Rule 14). PENALTY—Minor. Quote
