SWSiouxMN Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 UND kept its good play going and picked up a crucial road win, which became even bigger when PSU went bonkers against UNC. UND now goes on to the 2nd game of the 4 game road swing as they travel to said Portland State Vikings. PSU had done quite well themselves, winning 3 in a row and 5 out of the last 6. They are finishing up a 4 game homestead themselves, and look to complete a 4-0 sweep and get to 3rd in conference. They have some good guards, but they have some questions inside. UND has a huge opportunity to pull of a road sweep and get to 7-3, before heading to Weber and ISU. We match up a little better to PSU than we do to EWU. It might also throw us truly back in the thick of the Big Sky title chase too. Other Games: UNC (7-2) @ EWU (3-6) Big game for both, UNC needs to prove that it can win the road (6-0 at home vs 1-2 on the road) and not only lose any more ground to Weber, but not let UND sneak up behind them and take 2nd. EWU needs this to stay within striking distance of a playoff spot, and to show the conference that this young team is ready to take the next step Weber (8-1) @ Sac State (3-6) Rumors of Weber's demise has been greatly exaggerated, as they keep rolling along as usual. They could really put the conference race away next week when UNC and UND come to town, but first thing is first they have to contend with Sac State, who got a big time win against Idaho State to keep pace for the final spot in the playoffs. Can Sac state pull the major upset, it would really help their playoff chances if they can. ISU (4-5) @ NAU (5-4) Remember when NAU was 5-1 and was at the top of the conference? Well after playing Weber, UNC, and UND, NAU has fallen back to reality. Another must win game for both here, NAU can't be too comfortable with both Montana right behind them, so they need some separation. ISU is the first team out, and a road win can go a long way at the end of the year between getting in and getting knocked out. SUU (0-9) @ MSU (4-4) Is this the collapse of MSU? They started out strong but have lost 4 straight. You would think that getting SUU would be the perfect antidote, not so fast. SUU is getting closer to that 1st Big Sky win, and they are starting to grow up. Bobcats need to start stopping the bleeding, as the schedule is not getting easier for them. This could be the big upset of the night Off: Montana (4-5) Quote
sioux24/7 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Big game! Never really expected Portland State to be a big threat to us but they appear to be a very good team at home (9-3). Maybe it is because of that annoying scoreboard that they have that flashes the entire game. Quote
WeAreNorthDakota Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Hopefully that upset win took a lot out of them. 7-3 would look like a really solid conference record after the disappointing non-con season. Quote
dmksioux Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 UNC loses to EWU in OT, 94-90. UND can now move into a tie for 2nd place with UNC if the win tonight. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Just about every single point of PSU's right now has come in the paint.... c'mon guys! I like that Jones took Huff out right away after he took that deep NBA 3 early in the shot clock. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Hooker is on fire! He has our last 8 points and now has 11 for the game. UND is up 23-20. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Traylor is having some troubles hanging onto rebounds. Quote
bincitysioux Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Hooker and Huff playing well. Huff already has 2 assists. We are shooting 50% from three. PSU already has 10turnovers but we already have 7 which is an little high for us. PSU not seeing much resistance from our guys when they get it into the paint. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I don't understand why we start Salmonson, Traylor provides so much more to this team. Anderson needs to get going. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Terrible start to the half.... 38-36 PSU. Jones has taken way too long to call a timeout. Quote
bincitysioux Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Our interior D is atrocious. Vikes on 11-2 run take the lead. Poor start to the second half...... Quote
sioux24/7 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 This interior defense is absolutely pathetic! All they have to do is set a screen and then there big is wide open! Quote
sioux24/7 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Jones take control of your team! WHERE IS THE DEFENSE!!!!!!!? Quote
bincitysioux Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 PSU totally out playing our guys now...... Quote
FSSD Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Webb with some poor choices... I don't like him shooting 3's Quote
sioux24/7 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Nash has made some very bad plays tonight. Quote
bincitysioux Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 PSU is shooting 60% from the field for the game. D up men...... Quote
FSSD Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 it's not over, but it looks like UND is going to miss a great opportunity.. because Sac St is beating Weber St. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Stefan has had two straight very poor possessions. Quote
bincitysioux Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 We very uncharacteristically careless with the ball tonight..... Quote
